Thanks for the pm Catz

Some other things noted: (more cosmetic kind ...))

Index Management

- there seem to be dummy entries in the defaults like 'werwerwer' and 'ertertert'

- it looks like it is by design that the defaults can´t be deleted. If so then when you go to modify them maybe the 'Delete' button next to the 'save changes' on the bottom of the page should only be shown if the default switch says no.(?)

And one question:

On the 'main WF-Section (intro) page' is it possible to hide the featured article list?

I just change my questions from several postings ago a little bit:

Is it itentional that in the properties of created sections the switch 'show on main menu' triggers the main menu and the 'WF-Section Menu'?

To explain:
I want my sections listed in a separate block:
- so i activate 'WF-Section Menu'. I set it to be shown on any page.

To get the sections shown in that block i have to activate
'show on main menu' in every sections definition.

But now i have the problem that when a user is actually on the wf-section page the separate block will be shown and additionally the categories are listed in the main menu.

Oh yes i could set the 'wf-section menu' block not to show when the user is on a wf-section page but i would like too keep the arrangement of blocks consistent for the users experience.

Any easy way around this or would i have to change the template which puts them in the main menu?

Thanks again!

Hi Parafal,

if you downloaded wf-section last week make sure you read this thread.

Well, two more things from my side:

1. Question / Feature request:

Maybe it is already possible and i just don't see it.

I have just created a lot of sections which are shown in the main menu.
Now i want to change this option for all of them.

Is this possible in another way than modifying one section after another?

If not i would suggest something like the weight management screen where you get a list of all sections with their selected settings (like add section to main menu, disable html ...) listed to the right side of them so you could just enter the changes and submit them alltogether.
Same thing might apply for Articles i guess

2. Question:

Is it itentional that in the properties of sections the switch 'show on main menu' triggers the main menu and the 'WF-Section Menu'?

To explain: I wan´t my sections listed in a block which i thought 'WF-Section Menu' would be the one. But they only show up if i activate 'show on main menu' option for a section in which case they are also shown in the main menu block. So i have all of them in both blocks.

Wrong block?

Do i make sense at all?

No ... this doesn´t suck.

Any other handling would be inapropriate.

a) you should not be able to login with the users password except he gave it to you because otherwise every webadmin could fake useractions/posts/... easily
(ok technically you can still go into the database and do stuff but it would be harder)

b) users tend to use the same password for several accounts and sites. If you get hacked the password would be disclosing even more than just the hacked site.

c) several other reasons like these two ...

But looking at the smilie in your last post i'm sure you already realized this.

Just in case you already screwed your installation:

Quote:
Use an FTP program to reset the file permissions back to:

755 for all files and subdirectories in the root directory of your XOOPS installation

except for the following:

mainfile.php should be 444
cache, templates_c and upload to 777

If you were browsing through you directories with the file-manager it might get a little more difficult.

Not sure, but did you activate in the admin section under preferences this option? in case you are changing the templates ...

update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?

If this option is enabled, module template .html files will be updated automatically if there are newer files under the themes/your theme/templates directory for the current theme. This should be turned off once the site goes public.

For the lack of better advise:

Maybe you could download XSAS and try that instead of the EasyPHP package. It was just in the news on the mainpage of this site.

What you are implying here is pretty serious. I can assure you that this is NOTHING to do with WF-Sections and I am 100% sure of that.

Please i hope you take no offense in my post. It was not my intention to accuse you or your great module of anything. Thats why i put the red line above it and went into a pretty much detailed description.

If you or anyone else for that matter are offended by my post i offer an excuse to anyone who is. I´m serious about this.

WF-Sections does NOT overwrite any other file, either within its own directory nor does it to any XOOPS files.

Thought so, but didn´t know for sure.

As for server error 500, it maybe possible, but I have never come across this with this module for a long time. A previous unreleased version ...

Well as this does actually happen on basic XOOPS files already it won´t be wf-section obviously.

If you want me to install WF-Sections on one of your websites and test it out, then I would be only to glad to and this way, if it is WF-Sections then I can improve the script but I am more than confident that your problem lies else where.

Thanks for the offer but for now you have enough to do polishing and finishing this great module anyway. So don´t you waste time on installations for others in uncertain cases like this. I will try to find the reason on my own for now.

Still everyone else who might have any advise for me as to what to look for is very welcome. As this is most likely not a wf-section caused problem please PM / email me so we can keep this thread to wf-section.

Guess you have to make that out with yourself and the importance of your page. If you don´t cry if it breaks down ... I guess no one will answer 'It is safe' to your question.

Just remember it is a beta that just came out. Also not all features are yet implemented. (see first posting in this thread)
