Sorry, no answer but:

Do you really want that? Is it not enough that they might edit it?
Because as long as it is only edited and there possibly is no more text in it but it will still show that the user participated in a thread. Even if he later claims he didn´t wrote what the others read. If you allow to delete a posting completely user can remove every track of ever being in a thread and that is not good in my opinion.
On many boards there is from time to time the discussion to even let people edit their posts or not for exactly that reason. (while i'm pro on this issue :) I think this depends very much on the community you are dealing with.)

Aaaah crap ... much too long text for not really solving your problem

Have you read this thread?

Maybe some of the tips could already help you out.

Other than that:
PHP is 4.0.5 or higher
MySQL minimum 3.23
for your hoster?

Sorry missread.

So you cant even directly access yoursite.tld/admin as i see.

Hmmm ... tried reuploading the databasefactory.php file?

Did you read this in the wiki?

A: To turn on debugging try the following things:
=
1. If you can get to admininstration menu, go to Preferences, select 'Main', and find the section on debugging options. Choose "PHP Debugging"

2. If you can't get to the administration page, but have access to mysql, try the query "UPDATE xoops_config SET conf_value=1 WHERE conf_name = 'debug_mode'". Be sure to make sure "xoops_config" matches the name of the config table in your installation.

3. If you can't get to the administration page, and don't want to mess with mysql, but don't mind messing with PHP, then edit the file "include/common.php". Near line 83, change "error_reporting(0);" to "error_reporting(E_ALL);".

4. If this still doesn't work, your server or hoster may have turned off debugging in "/etc/php.ini" (linux) or "WIN_DIRECTORY/php.ini" (windows). Make sure there is a line in there "display_errors On".

5. If you don't have access to change this file (e.g. on shared hosting), then if the server uses the "apache" webserver, you can create a file called ".htaccess" to override the settings locally. This file should contain the line: "php_flag display_errors on". The tricky part is WHERE to put this file. Look at the URL you are having problems with. Put the file in the corresponding directory. e.g. If it is "someplace.com/xoops/" or "someplace.com/xoops/index.php" then you need to put the file in the main XOOPS directory. If it is something like "someplace.com/xoops/modules/system/admin.php" then put it in "modules/system" subdirectory of your XOOPS installation. etc.

Cause i think 3. could apply here. (?)

Administration --> Preferences --> General Settings --> Debug Mode

is your friend to activate PHP Debugging mode.

Glad to be of help.

It's always nice to try something never considering that such a simple thing could break it all and regret the next moment not to have a backup. Who has not had plenty of these situations?

Sorry to hear that

The selected theme is not stored in the config files.
It is stored in the database under 'config' but i am not that sql crack to tell you how to change this. :(

Well actually more like detectives. Ya know, solving cases and getting all the girls. Or was it other way round?

btw: i saw that. You wrote brash & Bender at first. It is still in my browser windows back function

@brash:
I second that but we shouldn´t push him. He is already working that damn fast on it ... *thumbs up*

@catzwolf:
Will you start to give numbers to the Betas? Because if you release more in short succession it might prove to be usefull to say error xyz in beta v2 0001 or something.

You could

- rename the 4thebiz Color theme folder to something else
- then rename the Zaja-System folder to the name of the 4thebiz Color folder

If you can see everything again after this (thus logging in) you change the theme to default and clean up the mess

On the 'main WF-Section (intro) page' is it possible to hide the featured article list?

Yeah, don't add any articles to this "Spotlight This Document in Main Index?" ring a bell? :-p

Ok, well caught me on this one. I didn´t note that option.

but ....

Just tried to change this setting by editing a document but it is not working. If i set 'Spotlight This Document in Main Index?' to no and click save nothing will change. Thus if i directly click edit for this document again it will still show 'Yes' there and will do exactly that.

If i create a new document with setting 'no' at first place it won´t be shown as it is supposed to be. But if i change this one to 'yes' it might or might not work.

So i tried on several other documents again and sometimes it works and sometimes not. I can´t make out a pattern yet to say beforehand if a saved change of this option will work or not. This is soooo strange ...
(Did run a second browser after a change to rule out browser caching issues. Caching for wf-section is also off)

Can someone else please test just to show documents in spotlight and turn it on/off several times to see if he can reproduce this.

It is strange that it (again) seems to happen only to me ... as the other mentions of spotlight all concerned that blank page issue as far as i could see.

Well i just did some quick reading into this and generally the idea seems very good to me.

Especially support for Active Directory in a later state would open a lot of doors in companies for XOOPS i think.
And to be (one of?) the first cms to offer this would even increase this advantage i guess.

Still one question about the CAS authorisation. When used to allow authentication for several websites: What happens when the CAS server is down/unavailable/whatsoever. This would lead to the problem that a user possibly can´t login to all sites using CAS at the time, right?
(as long as there is no backup server. In the documents i read about CAS use at Yale university i found no mentioning of this at all)
