Re: Moving xoops from html folder to root folder. What will happen?

No problem. Just make the change in the mainfile.php file. Remove the "html" portion of the XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and XOOPS_URL

Re: Hidden forum hack?

I think he/she is looking for the private forum hack. To answer this and the other question he has about polls in the forum, newbb2.

This version of newbb will do both. Follow the upgrade instructions carefully.

Re: Banner full width, no logo??

Check the FAQ about modifying your theme. You would simply give a place in your theme for your banner. Depending on your theme you might not have to do anything but create the banner. The theme.html might already have a place for it ($xoops_banner).

Sure, make a wide banner, code your theme to support it, done.

Re: Predator Joined Mambo!

Good luck to anyone that leaves for another project. And good luck to the people that came here from somewhere else. Such is life. Doesn't mean a thing except to the person that went elsewhere.

The sky isn't falling and there is no conspiracy. One person does not a project make (except for all the one person projects which XOOPS isn't).

Less politicing and theorizing, more coding.

Just an update DonXoop, I upgated to CBB and was able to select the forums to show in the recent topics list. So it does seem to be a bug in newbb 2.

A wish would be for the forums to be hidden in the block to users that do not have access. Then no selection would need to be made.

I'll hope that the official newbb2 gets fixed then. I'm not about to risk my forums on a fork app that may or may not be here next week.

For the blocks they already obey any access rights (if you don't use cache on that block). I do this for the main recent posts block. However I also use a small block for selected forum listings and that does require a selection config.

Hopefully there is still newbb2 devel.

Re: newbb2 blocks won't save allowed forum settings

Ah yes. That is the same problem, thanks. I searched around xoops.org and didn't find the same. Too bad the search is less than useful on the dev site. I could have browsed dev and may have found that post. But alas there isn't an answer.

The suggestion is that the problem is in 2.0.10.

I smell a patch coming....

edit->Someone on that thread mentioned moving to one of the newbb2 forks. Ummm, no thanks, I'll wait for that minefield to clear first....

Re: newbb2 blocks won't save allowed forum settings

One more quirk noticed. I deleted the custom template hoping to generate a fresh one to start with but I don't get the Generate option. I might have to Update the newbb2 module.... that will have to wait until a quiet time on the site..

newbb2 blocks won't save allowed forum settings

Recently upgraded to 2.0.10 (no update to newbb2). Now I can't save Allowed Forum List in the blocks. It always stays on All, other options will save. I use the blocks to isolate specific forum lists.

I typically get strange block settings after an upgrade and I run around the site resetting options and all is well except for this new one.

Newbb2 is 2.0.2, XOOPS is 2.0.10.

Re: Table already exists

A good module should finish the install even if the table exists (still gives the error). This module apparently chokes if the table exists. Check the modules/<module>/sql/mysql.sql file for the table name(s) to delete before trying the install again.

Then reconsider if you really want a stats package or a module with a shaky install routine.
