To start the discussion off -
The work arounds for foul language should not be allow at all Here is an example:
Quote:

...With that being said, what the h*ll is going on with xoops? Man I have read countless thread after countless thread of either people b*tching about how things are or now that those people have stepped down, how it should be. ...

I am of the thought that when such is found it should be edited and replaced with '[mod]XXXX[/mod]' indicating a moderator found it and edited it.

In addition to the current Code of Conduct, I am adding a few more rules for this thread and this thread only.

1) If quoting from another forum, topic, or thread, to show an example of bad or good form, remove all usernames, and signatures from the quote. (just don't strike them out, but remove them from the post before posting) We don't care who, as much as what.

2) Do not get stuck on one example or one situation. If you give an example, there should be at least five more just like it.

3) Keep the discussion on-topic, this is not a discussion about the moderators or moderator enforcement or non-enforcement. comments are welcome from the moderators if they believe a rule is enforceable or not enforceable or the wording is unclear.

Failure to comply will result in your post being deleted without warning or notice.

I have asked the moderators to apply the current code of conduct and the additional rules vigorously and with extreme prejudice. to this one thread.

If the thread gets too out of hand, the moderators will lock the thread for 24 hours, with or without notice, at their discretion.

As we move forward, reshaping the XOOPS community. A review of the current
Terms of Use and XOOPSiquette is in order.

If you would like to see something changed, or updated, removed or even left alone post a comment here. I am not going to promise anything is going to change, however, here is your chance to voice your opinion.

From the users/customers point of view, this is how I would prefer the troubleshoot process to work.

The user has a problem.

1. the user checks/searches the XOOPS documentation for a fix.

2. the user posts the problem to the community forums. The community gives suggestions.

3. After several failed attempts, a coordinator, collects needed information, and passes it on to the developer. The coordinators then comes back with the fix.

The user is happy, his problem is fixed.

What a grand idea

It may be too late now, however, it would great to have hosting company donate short term web space, in exchange for some preferred advertising. Maybe work into the rules where the hosting company's banner must be display on everyone home page, or something to that effect

Just a thought

No I am not entering.

However where my problem lies is in the split of our community. I just can not support the fracture of the xoops.org domain. Of course none of the domain issues have been finalized yet. Due to recent changes thank god!

I need to wait and see because there are still a lot things that have not had closure yet.

As we continue to move forward, and define our respective responsibilities and processes in this new era of Xoops, it will become necessary for the Community Coordinators to refer our customers to proper area within the XOOPS community for the best possible support. Those with problems with modules be will be referred to the module troubleshooting area. Those with problems relating to themes and templates will be referred here, or to Xoopsinfo

We, as the Community Coordinators will not tell our Customers, “You have a theme problem. Go here and try again.” That is poor customer service, and bad for business.

When we, the Community Coordinators, come across an unresolved issue that is clearly a theme or template issue, we will:

1)Collect as much relevant information about the issue as possible.
2)Re-post the issue with the information we gathered in the correct forum/topic
3)Inform the customer, that the issue has been transferred to the Themes/Templates team for continued troubleshooting.

We will not be following up on these issues as we will be with core issues. Once we post them to your forum, the issue belongs the Themes/Templates team, The Coordinators will not get involved otherwise. However we do need some information when we transfer an issue:

1) What information do you need?
1) Where do you want it posted to?
3) Is there a format you would like for us to follow?

We would appreciate if you would transfer issues relating to the XOOPS core to Xoops Bug Reporting.
We may on occasion ask a theme developer to consult on an issue in the XOOPS core, to determine if the issue is indeed a theme/template issue.

You may post your response here or in the Community Coordinators Team forum.

Note: We are not accepting issues at this time, rather we are getting all of our processes in place, so when the team is announced, we can get issues to the right place as quickly as possible.

The Community Coordination Team is not an active team, yet. Right now we have no authority to open, close, move or edit any topic, thread or posting.

The XOOPS project is quality program, and is worthy of world-class customer support for it users and customers. In the spirit of open source we are having our discussion about policy and procedures in the public, so administrators, users, customers, and visitors will know what to expect from Xoops.org. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions regarding any of our policies, please feel free to post them.

Once everything is place, and the team is active, an announcement will be made.

Thank you for your patience while we work though these issues.
