Either try to restart your server or do this

UPDATE xoops_config SET conf_value=1 WHERE conf_name = 'debug_mode'". Be sure to make sure "xoops_config" matches the name of the config table in your installation.

when you changed them in the module area and hit submit did you do it again on the new screen that poped up

I have 3 sites with around 1500 users all together and no probs now my friend has XOOPS with over 7000 and he does not have a prob either

If the server is the pc he is useing tell him to try a diff one or either he has something on his pc perventing it
