Snow answered the question, and it was all on the same topic, even the part about not having a problem with it because the topic is about updating.

However, since it looks like it doesn't say with specifics what to do, generally you just overwrite the old files with the new ones, update the system in the admin section, and you are done. Make sure everything is backed up first.

something is wrong with your theme. it looks like your footer bar has lots of <p> or <br> tags in it...like someone hit Enter a bunch of times in dreamweaver or something. when viewing the source, it shows this:

<table cellspacing="0">
    <
tr id="footerbar">
      <
td><p>&nbsp;</p>
<
p>&nbsp;</p>
<
p>&nbsp;</p>
<
p>&nbsp;</p>
<
p>&nbsp;</p>

<
center><hr>
<
strong><small><a href="https://xoops.org">Xoops</a> <a href="http://www.4thefort.com">Design</a></small></strong>
</
center>
<
hr>

</
td>
    </
tr>
  </
table>

change that to

<table cellspacing="0">
    <
tr id="footerbar">
      <
td><center><hr>
<
strong><small><a href="https://xoops.org">Xoops</a> <a href="http://www.4thefort.com">Design</a></small></strong>
</
center>
<
hr>

</
td>
    </
tr>
  </
table>

cool, think that did it... thanks!

Glad to hear it. I had the same problem with 4Images, and that was the solution for it so I figured it was along the same lines.

Another note though, after checking the site out: you might want to do one of two things about the comments block on the right hand side. I'd suggest either turning it off or moving it to a center block, or editing the template so it fits better. I'm viewing the site at 1024/768 and it makes the right column stretch out funny.

Change the "Method for resizing images" option to "Use GD Version 2.x" and see if that helps.

and xcgal on your site is locked out unless i am registered i assume

I could probably wait. How long do you think it will take to be available?

On the ensim one, I was able to upload pictures, but when I tried to back them up with an ftp program, it always told me I didn't have permission. I would change their permissions and everything, and still no luck.

On the Cpanel one, that never happened.

Ensim also had Safemode on but I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

I'm not sure if this is a drawback of php safe mode or Ensim, because my host with safe mode on (host4students.com) used Ensim and all of my other hosts have always used CPanel. Now, with the Ensim host I was always unable to delete or even copy uploaded media via FTP. With CPanel, I never had that problem but it had safe mode off, so I don't know if it was a problem with Ensim or Safe Mode. I'd suggest testing that first before commiting to something.

:)
