Because this isn't a democracy you FRAUD. If you can't figure out how to get the job done than do eactly that, pay big bucks to have someone write it. It happens everyday all around you, people that don't know pay someone that does to wash their socks or whatever.... Why is this such a tough notion for you the immaculate one or whoever you claim to be this year???

Re: Xoops Support

Bite me crumbcake. While I'm sure any donations you make are truly appreciated, it wasn't a support contract. And if you had made a support contract with me which gave you the right to bitch because you like to bitch then great but I would have by now given back all your money and never spoken again. But that is what you fear most and dare I say that profound word again... FRAUD.

Your many faces and persona's don't fool enough people. sick.

Re: WF-Sections Problem (Catzwolf?)

Holy crap Buckwheat, please take a hike. Really, really, really take a long hike off a short planet. If it doesn't work or you can't figure it out than do something else.

yepper. That's our Max.

Show me the money! Someone must be willing to take your money if you wanted to really give it or you could ask better. Face it M, you're a fraud. Now everyone knows. It is getting more difficult to avoid bumping into those burned bridges and people you've left behind.

So "whatever" on that or however you ignore the truth. Time to move on if you can't help yourself better than this. You still don't get the idea how OS operates. The information is out there if you just look and apply the knowledge.

Re: Event Registration- to Microsoft Access database

Since you have a MySQL db (I assume or you wouldn't be here I guess) you can use it and Access together. Keep the data in a real db like MySQL and use Access for the front end if you're already familiar with it.

http://www.mysql.com/products/myodbc/index.html and grab the MyODBC driver. Then use Link Tables against MySQL instead of those insane Access tables. After that it looks and smells like Access for the most part.

You need a form and a place to put the data. PHP and MySQL + Apache are a great web based combo (Hey, XOOPS runs that mix!).

I don't know about doing it in XoopS so if you haven't done it before than there is more to it than you might think. It isn't difficult even from scratch if you know how. But if you only know Access than I don't know. I've touched Access but I don't generally run Windows and I don't want to. However it isn't difficult to make Access talk to MySQL via ODBC.

Re: Jesus has forbidden me! Textsanitzer error.

You likely have a very basic issue with setting up a web server. Try the test.php idea and if even that doesn't work you need to find someone to help you get started. Can I guess that the server is Windouhs?

You could also claim to be an atheist or something and Jesus can't forbid you.

Re: initial install, won't allow passwords with special chars like $

Oh I see, you have a working db password but the install barfs when you specify it in mainfile.php? That would be a bug I guess unless there is a text sanitizer against it making it deliberate, Catch-22. Fortunatly I can use a pretty good password with alpha/num and then lock down MySQL (db user from localhost or single IP only).

Re: initial install, won't allow passwords with special chars like $

I'm new to the X myself but think I might point out a thing or two. You have the options under System Preferences / User Info Settings to set name/password limits. Default is strict alpha/numerical. You can choose Strict, Medium, or Light (allows multi-byte). You could keep the login name and password at Strict (more secure?) but the user can still use multi-byte for the rest of the profile like Real Name, Location, Sig etc.

Personally I would keep database naming strictly Latin Alpha. This still leaves the MySQL optional description text fields in any language you want. Comment your settings as much as you can in your language, no problem. Less worries if you keep the database names and authentication at alpha/num. But most of the content is as you wish.

Re: Special Section Issues

Exactly.

Learn, do, be happy. Sometimes denying the validity of things so strongly is the most fanatical faith based belief out there. But that is a completly different topic. It just bleeds into eveything else with some people.

Did I miss something? How do you contribute finacially? Never mind, isn't important. Free beer.

The point being made is that you might start with something that is at least structured nicely and go from there. if it meets up with your egotistical priorities then you'll be a hero by posting it back as a useful module. That is contributing.

Write the damn thing yourself since apparently the other good folks can't possibly live up to your needs or lofty position in the Q.

Sometimes you try hard to mean well but it isn't difficult to get your infamous side exposed for what it is.
