So far so good .. my Xoops site is really starting to shape up and very pleased with the programing by the Xoops team!

After learning a lot from supporters .. Where I have an issue is on custom blocks .... Hopefully I'll get better as time progresses ..

What I want to do is add a random image link to a custom block for my top page using a php file.

example:http://www.myhomepage.com/randomimage.php

Currently randomimage.php is working like it should rotating my images when I refresh the php script ..

Problem is formating (editing) a script (or code) into a custom block ..

Thanks!

I went into admin and did an update ... Noticed a few adjustments from the print out of the update ...

After I did that .. it started working fine ..

Thanks for the support ! ...

Thanks Culex,,

Gave it a try and still picked up a parse error ..

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ',' or ';' in modules/classifieds/modify.php on line 79

I took a look on line 79 and did not show me an expected string as mentioned ..

Here is a copy of line 79

list($usid, $plid, $purl) = $xoopsDB->fetchRow($result);

if ($xoopsUser) { LINE 79
$currentid = $xoopsUser->getVar("uid", "E");
if ($usid == $currentid) {
if($ok==1) {

Thanks Catzwolf ..

You guessed right! ...

That was my issue when creating a new custom block, the information is stored in the database and not in a flat file.
I did get the ones that I wanted "viewed" and blocked according to my needs on the site ..

However, what I kept looking for was in the database .. Not problem there .. I can go into MYPHP admin and find it in my database without any issues .. I just figure the custom blocks would have more of a logical link that I could direct to my theme.html format.

Do appreciate your response . YUP! your right, not that good with this yet .. but I'm already better than I was a week ago ..

The only other issues I am running into is some of the errors that I get on some of these modules that you can download .. I do check to see if they are comp to my version of Xoops 2.4.4 .. Some only show up to 2.4.3 and not sure if thats part of the language issue with the upgrades .. Just hate having to chase errors messages all over the site when it should be fairly easy and 90% operational ..

I have three other sites online now using PHP .. This third site I am currently working on is something new all together using Xoops .. No complaints .. just a different feel ...

Thanks!

TDMPicture Issues

Running XOOPS 2.4.4

I decided to try TDMPicture version 1.05 for my picture gallery ..

There are two issues I am having with this module ..

1) When selecting Slide Show ... No slide show is presented ... ONLY when I select "image" only the images will show on the home page.

2) When you select the image on the home page ... I get "You do not have permission for this action If the page does not automatically reload, please click "

I have gone into admin for TDMPicture and verified that I have selected all permissions listed for Webmaster, Registered Users, and Anonymous Users.

Has anyone else had this same issue .. if so did you fix the module to make any of this work?

Thanks

I'll be honest with you ghia .. I do not understand what you are referring to an anchor point to scroll them into...

Still learning Xoops .. getting the hang of it .. but still a little slow on some of the facets of the program..

Here is the code in my theme:

<li><a href="<{xoAppUrl /}>"><b>About Us</b></a></li>

I see href= which is the starting for my hyperlink ...

I have a custom block that I want show .. How do I figure out my hyperlink to the code above .. I do not see any information that describes my hyperlink format when a custom block is created ..

OR am I going the wrong direction with posting something.

Hi ghia

Not sure if I am doing this right or not ...

I have a "Custom Block" I made in modules ...
Lets call it "MS" ..

Now I can select it where I want it to go or be visible as wanted.

Back to my HOME PAGE ..
I have a tool bar I want to link to "MS" .. (the block is not being visbile at this time BUT is selected for where I want it to rest on the page.

My issue is how do I determine from my HOME PAGE tool bar to point the custom block "MS"?

Hope this better describes what I'm trying to accomplish .. Normally I just point to the hyerlink in PHP or HTML ...

With XOOPS .. not sure how to point to hyperlinks from the HOME PAGE .. to show on the HOME PAGE
