Since I found this myself, I thought I'd answer my own question in case it may help someone else.

I found the text in the top messages shared its color with the overall body text of the skin. In the style.css file near the top was the code:

body {
color#FFFFFF;
background-colortransparent
margin0
padding0
background-imageurl('images/background.jpg');
background-repeatrepeat
background-positionright bottom;
}

The FFFFFF defined the body text of my theme to white, which of course, did not contrast well to the almost-white background. I changed FFFFFF to C0C0C0, a light gray, which contrasts enough to be readable.

Thank you, Me.

Just curious, but are you doing any URL forwarding with GoDaddy or using their name servers for DNS?

I have tried the Xforum module and it doesn't look very good. The colors are awful and of poor contrast. Looks like it was programmed by someone from Fisher-Price. Is there a forum module that embeds with Xoop but looks more professional? I'd like to use phpBB3 but I don't know if there's a bridging module made for it.

I'm talking about the links that modules create automatically when installed. They put the links under certain categories and not where I want them. I can create the link again but I want to remove the original. I can't find how to remove this in the blocks section. Does the code have to be edited manually?

On one of them, I selected the option in blocks to not show it but it still shows, even after clearing the browser cache. I have no cache on in Xoops.

I'm talking about that header thing that displays something when you do certain actions, like try to access a page that you don't have permissions for. That text that talks about the page reloading. The text is very light on a white background so it's nearly unreadable. Maybe the theme does this because it has a black background with lighter text.

I'd like to either change the text or the color of the background, preferably the latter.

Placing Content? (Noob Alert!)

So I've dived into XOOPS after trying Drupal, Joomla, Dolphin, etc. It looks good so far but I'm having trouble actually getting content on my pages. I'm guessing there is no built-in module for this and one must be added?

I want a simple-to-use module that integrates easily. I'm assuming these can be set up so that any registered member may add content (blogs)?

I would like the ability to add images (hopefully inline with text wrapping ability) or even place videos like from YouTube, etc.

Is this too much to ask?

I've installed the Article Management System (AMS) 3.00 SEO Final, but can't quite figure out how to get anything on the front page.
