YourHelp, I believe that the module was developed by Onakazu. However, he is better off focusing his time and effort into developing the core module than to be bothered by this.

It is in my opinion that we attempt to settle this in our own time and then forward it to his attention if a bug is discovered and confirmed.

Back to the problem at hand,

Anyone else experiencing this, I've change manipulated all the various setting available to no avail.

The debug mode(all modes) does not display anything out of the ordinary. Pointers would be appreciated.

Does anyone knows if RSS feeds require the use of any particular ports?

Guys, I've had it fixed. I hope this information will prove useful to someone. Thanks goes out to CatzWolf who addressed the solution in the following thread

Problem was, I did a search and read the thread, fault was all mine on missing out on his comment about the php function "fopen".

Future users who are hosting your own site do edit your php.ini and enable the "fopen" option.

Good Day, Xoopsers.

I seemed to have ran into some problems with the XOOPS headline module.

I'm posting this with reference to the following two URLs.

Everything was working fine, until today. All of the XOOPS site that I have a affected by it.

Basically, the headline block doesn't appear on the designated page. It appears only when I turn on the mysql/block debug.

Even after it does, I get an error message

Failed retrieving RSS feed from xoopsSite.Com
Could not open file:http://xoopsSite.com/backend.php

It would seem that the headline module is incapable of accessing the file generated by the backend.

However, when I copy and paste the URL onto my browser, an XML file is successfully displayed by the browser.

I'm stumped, help and pointers is greatly appreciated.

Guys, I've turned on the debugging for mysql/blocks and I actually received this error message in a pop up box.

SELECT b.* FROM anggarda_newblocks b, anggarda_block_module_link m WHERE m.block_id=b.bid AND b.isactive=1 AND b.visible=1 AND m.module_id IN (0,-1) AND b.bid IN (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) ORDER BY b.weight,b.bid
Error number: 1
Error message: Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#sql_1009_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

I'll appreciate it gladly if someone could tell me what is wrong and therefore remedy the problem.

UPDATE:

I've since updated and isolated the problem. It would seem that "perror 13" returns "right permissions".

I check and it would seem that the user that started the MySQL server doesn't have rights to write to the tmpdir that was designated in my.cnf

I've since changed the permission and everything is in order.

I hope that the above information will help someone.

lykoszine, I'm not anti Microsoft or anything like that...but have you tried the Mozilla series of browsers? (Phoenix etc)

They have this thingy called type ahead. Basically, I just type the the first few characters of a link and the focus would jump to the link. Just press enter after that.

Its great if you need to find a link in a messy web page.

I'm certain, most Mozilla users swears by it. Once you've used it, you'll never need to lift your hands off the keyboard to use the mouse ever again....

I've been at this for days, and I haven't got the slightest of ideas.

I have a favour to ask of those who have downloaded a copy of the phpsysinfo that I modularise for xoops.

As a result of a hardware failure, I no longer have a copy of the module.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could mail a copy of it to anggarda at hotmail dot com.

Users of Mozilla/Phoenix/Everything else based on Mozilla, will see a small XOOPS logo besides the URL in our browser.

How do I change that to my own image?

Left and Right Blocks Missing: Gentoo?

Good Day, XOOPS the Community.

I'm experiencing a situation whereby I'm missing both the left and right blocks.

The thing is, I've narrow the problem down not to my mis-configuration of my settings or otherwise(etc, groups, blocks admin)

But as a result of the apache, php and MySQL on a gentoo box, the XOOPS installation and database dump works fine on alternate OS.(RH 9.0, XP Pro)

There seem to be some option which I'm unaware of which results in the missing blocks, anyone here aware what I'm missing?
