Ok, I know I'm gonna look like a complete idiot for asking this, but how do I change the favicon for my site?

I am using XOOPS 2.3.3 English with the tomandjerry theme which I have adapted. I made my own favicon and uploaded it and everywhere (admin menu etc) shows the new favicon except the main site! I uploaded this favicon and overwrote every example of favicon.ico I could find in my files, but still it shows the default theme favicon (have checked from several computers at several locations so it's not browser cache).

It's driving me nuts! Can someone please put me out of my misery? lol

Thanks deka87. Sorry to appear stupid, but where do I find it? I even tried a google search but can't find it anywhere (sorry for being such a n00b ... I really appreciate your help).

I'd like some advice please. I am looking for a basic module, which I could use as my 'home page' (Xoops 2.3.3 English) which pulls in news feeds (Google News, CNN, etc) and displays them.

I have been looking everywhere for this - all I can find to date is something called RSS Center, but you just about need a pilot's license to understand it.

Short of trying to write a static page to pull this in (my skills aren't that great) I was hoping there would be a simple module that would pull in this information (create a category, input the RSS feed address, display how many items to show, pictures to show or not, etc) but I can't find anything at all.

I'n relatively new to XOOPS so maybe I'm missing something. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful.

This is a great module but one thing that is glaringly missing is the ability to set access permissions per category. For example, in my site I wish to have videos on all sorts of categories, including adult comedy, and I'd like to be able to restrict access to that particular category to adult members only.

This is not a criticism or anything, but one thing I notice about almost all XOOPS modules is that there is no demo. It would be great to have a demo XOOPS site with the modules running so you could see if it's exactly what you want. At the moment, you just have to download and install it and check it on your own site, and then delete everything if it's not what you're after.

It would be handy if the XOOPS site had a demo where you could see all of these modules in action.

EDIT: This is exactly what I was after. Great module.

Hi Ghia, thanks for the advice. I have printed your advice out and followed it carefully, step by step, except one thing I cannot find.

1. The NewBB/CBB module v3.0.8 is installed without problem.
2. I reuploaded the Frameworks and then reuploaded the standard XOOPS 2.3.3 Frameworks files over it to make sure everything is ok there.
3. I have activated the php debug option in CBB preferences as you suggested.
4. Language is English only.
5. I set up categories and forums, group permissions, and the default permission template in CBB.

So far, everything is great. The only thing I can't do is find /xoops_data/caches/xoops_cache/xoops_editorlist.php to alter the editor permissions. I searched the entire server and my hard drive for a file called editorlist.php but can't find it anywhere! I have files called xoopseditor.php etc but not xoops_editorlist.php

If you wouldn't mind helping me out with this (it's probably as obvious as anything but I'm missing it) I would be grateful.

Once I have followed your instructions for that file, I can then test everything and see if I still get error messages, or whether that's fixed the issue.

In the meanwhile, I'll take a look at your chat module suggestions. Thanks!

EDIT: Forums working perfectly now. Thank you so much! I can only imagine it was something to do with the Frameworks files. Now I can get onto the chat and other modules.

You guys rock! I love the excellent support to found here. Joom-who?
