Re: Password recovery error

Good point.

Same email message worked appropriately on my iPhone and on my iPad.

Password recovery error

Customer complained that the password recovery did not work.

On testing it, I found that the link in the first email was not functional.

The link was acting as an email link and not a htm link. If I cut and paste the entire line, then the code works properly. However, if I click on the link, it tries to send an email. The red parts of the line are the parts of the line that should be included in the link.

example
Hello xxxxx,

A web user from xx.xxx.xxx.x has just requested a new password for your profile at xxxxxx
.
You can get your new password by clicking on the link below:

http://mysite.com/modules/profile/lostpass.php?email=xxxxxx@xxxx.xxx&code=0c4b9

If you didn't ask for this, don't worry. Just delete this Email.

Re: GoDaddy Auto Install

Not if people don't install it in the first place !

It's like being Beta in a VHS world.

Re: GoDaddy Auto Install

I did provide them with some feedback.

So there is no talk between ya'll and GoDaddy?

XOOPS is currently way down on the list of auto-installed. Okay, doesn't even show on the list of most popular installs. Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal are the top three of course. Even Simple Machine Forum is on this last. (Not including Zen cart as that is a different category of product..)

Joomla even has a menu option for paid templates.

"Affordable Joomla templates by TemplateMonster
Need a CMS yesterday? No problem. Choose a killer Joomla template below, download it from our friends at TemplateMonster, and then get crackin'."

To find XOOPS, well, it is 11th on a list of 11 content managers (alphabetic order). No promotion. Lousy install.

A better install, with the xoops_data/xoops_lib automatically broken out and renamed, along with a group of preinstalled, standard modules would go a long way to improving the rating of XOOPS for this company.

Re: GoDaddy Auto Install

The only block initially installed is the SYSTEM block.

Protector should be installed.

The other base blocks should be installed.

GoDaddy Auto Install

Who worked with GoDaddy on the auto install?
- It could use some work.

Such as:
- The folder for xoops_data and xoops_lib should be requested and named in the install.
- The xoops_data and xoops_lib names should be renamed.

- The database prefix should be prompted for and changed.

Extras:
- Starting the program:
o In DEBUG mode.
o with the site TURNED OFF.

Re: Change database prefix

Time to start over.

The GoDaddy install process could use some improvement.

Re: Change database prefix

The "Go to prefix manager" in protector does not take you there. It takes you to the home page of protector. Have to use the prefix manager tab.

Re: Change database prefix

Ah, that was why I could not find it.

I knew it was there somewhere. Did a 'new install'. I was trying to migrate the databases over using a database backup.

Change database prefix

Silly question. How do I change the database prefix?
