I am confused ... is anyone familiar with Image Manager under the system administration? I have made sure that my images are within the pixel limitations and I have tried to upload a jpg, a bitmap, and a gif all of which say "invalid image format". What kind of image does XOOPS upload?

In reviewing posts, it appears that someone at sometime had offered a XOOPS module for team management with statistics options. The links are now dead so I am wondering if there is one avaiable to manage sports leagues information.

One poster said that he was going to use a team module from php-nuke. Are those modules compatible? I downloaded the module out of curiousity and XOOPS just listed it as not found??

Any direction on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

i have uploaded the yahoo news module and I believe it is in the correct place because when it is not loaded in the correct place the admin panel gives you the message that the module isnt found. However, I don't see anything on the admin page saying yahoo news and I cant find it in the blocks area. Where is this supposed to be saved and should I then see it in the admin area?

Also, is there a tutorial on the weight system for the blocks?

Thank you

Since downloading XOOPS I am learning all sorts of new directions for web development. My question in this:

I am working to change some of the CSS style elements and I am then uploading the final to my website so that I can view the outcome of my changes. Is there a way to see these changes to the CSS theme pages in a stand alone environment and save me from having to upload for each change? Maybe I am misunderstanding something.

I have downloaded xSAS if it is possible to make the changes in that ??? Please let me know of any direction you might have or if I am misunderstanding what I am tyring to do.

Thank you

I have searched the net and the documentation and I am not finding what I am looking for...I love the XOOPS content management but I need opportunity on some of the pages to be more wisywig. For example, the first page I would like to have the navigation and the user sign in but the rest I would like to be open for me to lay out the page as I have in my current website which does not fit a layout example from xoops. This is the sort of layout (not the colors) that I am following.http://www.channel933.com/main.html.

Where can I detailed find information about customizing layouts particulary if there is information on wisywig layout for images. I have seen articles about wisywig but they seem to be talking about aspects of wisywig that I dont need.

Any direction, assistance or direction to a FAQ article would be great.

Thank you very much!

Hello,

I am working on a prototype project for a radio station. I would love to use XOOPS for the content management aspects but it is a bit too constrained for the creativity that goes with a radio station website. I would post a copy of what I am looking to create ideally but I cannot post attachments. Here is a similar similar site. The index page is really the only thing I would be very concerned with. The other pages can be incorporated into the XOOPS design I think.http://www.kioz.com/main.html

What does anyone think? Is it possible? I would be open to a completely new design as well as long as it has a radio station in mind.

Thanks to all!!

I have downloaded modules that I would like to add to my site and I am attempting to upload them into hdocs/modules. Is that the correct place to upload them? And do I need to open the file and save the inner files or can i just upload the main file for example i downloaded the xoops2 contact file and then unzipped it and I am trying to upload the xoops_mod_ file. When I go into administrative and then modules it lists all of the modules that I tried to upload but it says Module File for XOOPS2_mod_catads_v140_thecat Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!

Thank you for any direction on this!

I think anyone is prepared for a learning curve when they begin to use a new program for example Photoshop was probably the longest learning curve I had ever needed to learn a program. But what is frustrating on top of that is exactly what you said about the documentation. When I look there I see many topics listed that say not available. And then the people in the forums are kind of impatient by saying "look in the documentaiton".

I have looked for any way I can to find the modules. In the modules folder from my downloaded file all it says is system and index. I am wondering if the modules even downloaded with the original XOOPS files.

i see thank you. XOOPS looks very interesting but i the more that i am getting into it the more I am thinking that it is just too difficult to do things. I cannot figure out how to install the modules options now which according to the information I have read should have been default options. One article said to be sure that all of the modules are uploaed into the module folder and in checking what I downloaded from this XOOPS site, everything was uploaded.

I really wish there was more detailed information on some of these things.

Hello all. I have downloaded a very nice looking theme that I would like to use for my new site which I am constructing. I am looking to find a sort of step-by-step on how to use a different theme and other thing.

I have tried the documentation area and I have looked at many sites including XoOPS for dummies. Most of the information is really more about troubleshooting rather than how to customize or modify.

Does anyone know a good FAQ site or knowledgebase? Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thank you!
