Well maybe the best way to moderate a site like XOOPS.org is indeed an autonomous and independant moderation team.
Such a team can moderate without the influence of any team or group.
They only have to look over that the etiquettes of XOOPS.org are respected in the fora and comments.

I also can imagine that this job is enough for people to manage.

I suggest that the temporary counsel (read JMorris, Tom and Phppp) let their thought go over this and then they come with a proposal.

Quote:

core devs should develop & manage the developments. the lead core dev should NOT be the project manager IMO

the project manager(s) should be whoever is on the XOOPS Council, yes all members of the council and not just 1 person. but the core devs should work closely with the council on an advisory level. IMO the council should be responsible for the running of the community site.

i'd propose core dev leader be 1 seat on the council, the rest of the council should NOT be developers.

+1, fully agreed

I think that you have to play with the stylesheet.
Try to play with margins or padding-left, maybe taht will do the trick

Well I think that wanting to start an end-user team, in the light of the recent past (where nobody seemd to listen) is the wish of many XOOPSusers that they are being listened to when they have ideas and feelings. I think the community is the an important group for the succes of XOOPS. So IMHO the voice of the community has to be respected.

As I mentioned above the light of the past makes it understandeble for me that some wanting a team next to all the other teams (for me, the nummer of team doesn't make it more understandeble ). I think and more, I hope that another team is not nescesary. Why? I hope that the recent history has made it clear that the community has to be heard!
There is never been more importance to good and clear communication then there is at this moment.

To the counsel and all the teams that have been raised the past few weeks I want to ask the following:

1. Give one and clear report of the point where XOOPS stands now. I don't need names, just what is being done and why.
2. Following that give one and clear vision what stil has to be done and why.
3. Use both reports to reflect to the community that you all have heard the concerns of the people who love XOOPS.

And well, maybe a litle place in the forums here (in the memberlounche or wherever) will help the community to get new believe in de way XOOPS will, can and shall grow. They all just want to help.

IMHO there is a difference between a community site and a personal site.

A personal site is a site wich is develloped and maintained by a person who doesn't have to count with the ideas and feelings of anyone.
A community site has in my opinion give itself a task. It wants to serve a goal. To make it work and getting to that goal the sites has to count with ideas and feelings of the community. So a personal site can do want he/she wants. A community site has to serve and respect the community.

Just my two cents
