I'd like to hack WFSection's Recent Sections block (or just make a simple php block) so that it would display the category name, the poster's name (with link), as well as the summary in the block.

So the output would look something like this:

Category : Title
by Name [Date]
Summary Text...

Now I'd also like to throw in an if statement so I can exclude it from displaying articles that are in specific categories because I have created custom html blocks to display certain categories in a nice graphical layout. So if it skips that article, it would like increment the loop or something so that it still would display X articles and not one less.

I'm sure this all would be rather easy to do, I'm just no good when it comes to database queries and php.

News & WF-Sections - I'd love to see blocks where we could display the last X news/articles per category with or without a brief description. So, you could have a block for each news category you have or a block for each wf-sections category. So I assume that this would involve either the ability to clone the blocks for however many categories you want to display or just 1 really large block that would display the X news/articles from each selected category seperately.

Contact Us - When someone submits a message their email address shows up inside the message and not in the email field. When I go to reply to it, it displays my site's email address in the email field and I'd like it to display that of the user's so I can just quickly reply to them without having to type it in manually. (I'm lazy)

Newbb - The ability to have polls inside forum threads.

I'd also really like to see a membership/billing modules with the ability to support various payment gateways.. (ie. PayPal, Paysystems, 2Checkout, PSIGate, Authorize.Net, etc.)

Maybe a quiz/questionaire module...

Some people on my site have also requested a dating service system (I know FriendFinder exists but I recall it having a lot of bugs).. Maybe something where you can have like a Matchmaker thing based on user-defined questions and it would compare them based on the percent of matching answers..?

awesome! i'm excited for it.
i'd recommend just starting small and then making things more complex later.

i'm sure a lot of us would be pleased with something simple for the mean time, but a whole billing system would rock it if it was realized.

a full fledged billing module would of course be amazing, however i'd be happy with just a quick, simple paypal payment module which does basically what draven has described, until a project like this could be realized.

so yeah, draven, if you are willing to whip up something like this when you have time, i'd definately be interested in using it! :)

i got mine working a while back (after figuring out that i had to put the php tags in) and i just wanted to say thank you for sharing that block..

i terms of the chat room i think the block makes all the difference whether or not people will join the chat room..

Would you be willing to release that "Who's in Chat" block that you made for it?

The users of my site, as well as myself, aren't all that happy with the functionality of the latest beta release of Xoopschat, so I'm thinking of purchasing FlashChat until Xoopschat improves.

(Oh, and I don't want anyone to interpret that as me dissing the module, it's just not right for my needs right now.)
