my mistake.. I had changed /ipboard/sql/mysql.php file and that's why the error comes up.

I am uninstalling and uploading a clean copy of the whole files to fix this self-inflicted error

this is the error i get when clicking on 'message board' link in the main menu after installing IPB module:

Quote:
mySQL query error: SELECT s.sess_id, s.member_id, s.member_name, s.login_type, g.suffix, g.prefix
FROM xoops_session s
LEFT JOIN xoops_ipb_groups g ON (g.g_id=s.member_group)
WHERE sess_updated > 1074634515
ORDER BY s.sess_updated DESC

mySQL error: Unknown column 's.member_id' in 'field list'
mySQL error code:
Date: Tuesday 20th of January 2004 04:50:15 PM

I did configured 'conf_global.php' to fit my site and installation didn't reported any errors.

I just installed this module and it's way off, not working at all

all the define statements are not working (/languages/english/modinfo.php), so I see names like: MI_XCHATMSGFRAME instead of the proper name.

when cliking on the main menu this module shows a blank page, i have debug on and nothing shows there.

any takers on this ??

all you need is the CONTENTS of the html folder (not even the html folder itself, just what is inside on it: like class, include, language, etc)

where's your site's URL and could you turn debug on so others here can take a shot at it ?

Hi David.

The problem you've described it happened to me exactly the same like a year or more ago. After 5 days of troubleshooting and posting it here in the forums I found out that I was missing or have deleted a file, unfortunatelly my memory is not good for long time ago events so I can't recall what file it was. What I suggest you is taking a look and compare what you have in your computer and what you have in the site. I'm pretty sure you find out what file is missing that is producing those blank pages in those specefic sessions. or upload again the system and user related files, the ones you haven't modified.

Hope you fix your problem soon

Regards

if you have access to phpmyadmin access your database and delete the tables that refers to xoops_news that way you can reinstall the module. usually pypmyadmin can be accessed by cpanel if you have access to it, once you click on the icon 'mysql databases' at the end of that page there's a link to phpmyadmin

for the error i get clicking on that link it looks like you didn't unzip the files and directories at the root but inside the cgi-bin folder wich usually doesn't allows you to execute anything that's not cgi.

the path it shows is: home/w11377/web/public_html/cgi-bin/xoops/install/index.php
