Hey guys, haven't been in the forums for.. well.. a long time. As one of the original devs of this great product, instead of helping, I'm asking for help.

I've let my site get very behind (www.boardjive.com) in versions. I'm still running 2.01. I can't find all the upgrade packages on XOOPS.org to bring me current.

Can someone direct me to the right place to DL all these?

Thanks!
Boobtoob

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I spoke up about anything and there's LOTS of great ideas for more core features. There's one that's been neglected for a VERY long time that still needs fixing. The mail function.

You can't generate an email to all users successfully to this day.

Just my 2c.

P.S. Great job new team!

just as an fyi, this is a nice hack that works but remember that when you update your XOOPS installation from CVS or fix packs that these files will probably get over written. Keep that in mind and remember to patch any files or you will be pulling your hiar out next time.

Sure did.. Added it to my xoopsgallery package. I've also completed the rewrite of the block code for random thumbnails. I'll put a news in a little while.

Remember, anyone can sue you for anything even if they're wrong. A disclaimer will let readers know that your not responsible for content provided by others. Yahoo and other have 'not so favorable' content all over the place but, they don't take it down just because someone asks.

What you need to do is open a dialog with the company threatening suit and ask them if this post exposes copyrighted material, material covered by the DMCA, or if it infringes on any IP they may own.

If it is, I would suggest they give specific example of how it infringes then consider removing the post. If they just don't like that someone said something negative, then they are SOL. It's call the First Amendment to the Constitution, Freedom of speech.

Let them know that if they want to go after the poster directly, then have them get a court order to expose the posters information stored in your system. That's all your obligated to do unless there's a copyright or other infringement.

Hope this helps.

We haven't written any LDAP code for XOOPS 2.0. We just opened it up so the authentication can be modular making it easier to add an LDAP component.

This is good news. You don't want to try to port a PN module that has the PNAPI hooked, it'd be just as easy to rewrite it at that point.
