Fatal Error

Hi Xoopsters,

Everything was going fine - just returned to my desk, clicked a link in the menu of my site http://www.itsallaboutthevibe.com and got the following:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/mrjake/public_html/thevibe/kernel/config.php on line 222
Unknown Condition []: in file line

so I looked in line 222 of the said file it came up with:

$ret[$configs[$i]->getVar('conf_name')] = $configs[$i]->getConfValueForOutput();

I have no idea what this means and why it should suddenly decide to do this - the site has been working fine for some time now?

anysuggestions would be much appreciated

I have created a website in XOOPS - I did this on a subdomain, just as a test, coz I'm a newbie and then got a bit carried away - and created the whole thing and got it working mostly fine - HOWEVER . .

Now I have added-on another domain to my cPanel and that is the domain name I would like to put my XOOPS site under.

How do I do this? do I just download all the files from the original subdomain and just reupload them to the new directory associated with the new domain?? what about DB probs/issues???

Keep it simple as I'm new to this

Worked out how to do it - by pure chance.
Didn't quite know what i was doing - but went into the database and changed the names associated with the group id - it was definitely a case of the force being with me, cause I have no idea about how to use all the sql stuff - i am just glad when it all works. Which is why i think this XOOPS thing is the best.

HEEELP,
I am a newbie and on a steep learning curve.

I went into system admin (groups)to update some access rights and now the group names have seemed to have changed and I can't change them back???????????

The webmaster group has changed its name to default.
The registered users group has also changed its name to default.
Anonymous user remains unchanged.

I have tried to change the names back - i.e modify the groups, but when I press submit, it says the database has been successfully uploaded, but the name remains unchanged!

so now i have two groups called default with different access rights etc.

How did this happen?
How can I get it back to normal?

I thought that if you ticked the block access box - they (the anonymous users) would n't be able to see it - problem solved. Many thanks - amazing - within minutes of a post I got the answer.

Hope some day I'll be good enough to share my knowledge.

yep - at the moment when you typ in the url - the centre block is empty - I would like to know how to fill it with the kind of thing you see in the centre block when you register.

I am a complete newbie to all this. I wanted to create a portal,I tried PHPNUKE, PHPWebsite but XOOPS tops them all. I have managed to get a grip on the themes and modules etc but I have one question.

When you go to the site http://www.itsallaboutthevibe.com it comes up with the modules that I have set for anonymous. when you register the page you see has the centre box filled with a custom welcome box - just some straight text (i created this in front page and then pasted the html into the box etc).

This is the box that I would like to be viewed by all users, in that I customise a welcome page etc before they register and to perhaps encourage them to do so - How do I do this???

I have tried setting the blocks to anonymous and creating a new block but to no avial.

If any of you who are more enlightened would comment i would very much appreciate your comments/feedback.
