Actually i'm working on CAS integration (Central Autentication server) for intranet SSO.

After that, I've planned to work on federated identity (because it's the name for the "Multi-Site Registration").

OpenId is in the scope.

With OpenID, Shiboleth, Liberty alliance, and so on there is a lot of API that must be qualified.
Some of solution need a centralized server (identity provider) that needs hosting services behind.

I've tested OpenID and it's very simple to use.

it's a very ambitious project that needs resource and time with security consideration.

If you use the admin account to bypass AD authentication and failed with Incorrect login with it, there 2 explications :

- Your type a wrong passord
- The admin account not exists or you enter a wrong uid for the admin loginname in the auth preferences.

You must active the debug mode inthe Admin XOOPS preferences to see details messages.
If you can't login with admin it would be better to re install XOOPS.

I can change the password stored on ldap?

No you can't, XOOPS use the LDAP Authentication. It's not made to change your LDAP password (in the Authentication stage).

Quote:
the idea is to give a generic password to all users and then they would have to change it

Good idea but the "Authentication stage" is not made for this. But it's possible to develop an interface in XOOPS to change the password. It's not very complicated.

GIJOE said in the readme file of this hack :

Quote:
And this hack also disables "Authentication Factory" -the new feature of 2.0.14-. If you want to use this feature, you'd better upgrade your XOOPS into 2.2/2.3

For me this not a good choice. He has disabled the authentication factory so when you installed this hack you can't use the LDAP/AD or other authentication method except the XOOPS sql.

And the new authentication system is not maintain in the 2.2 series.

very damage !
