Hello,

I posted this question over at wf-projects.com a few days ago but have gotten no responses, so I thought I'd try here:

I'm just wondering if there is a way to change the way the links are set up. If possible, I'd like to use the page title instead of the page number; for instance, instead of index.php?pagenum=2, I'd like index.php?page=Title

Is this possible?

Thanks everyone

Also, is there a path equivalent to $xoops_imageurl?

Hello,

Several months ago I found this hack and I love it. BradM mentioned that he was trying to figure out how to make this hack theme-specific. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

This is awesome! I'm wondering, does anyone have a site like this in English?

Looking for help (plea$e)

Hello everyone. I am looking for some help with a theme/template.

I started back in December trying to make a custom theme. The theme I am interested in is VERY GENERIC. I don't want it styled or anything. All I want is a generic, plain, boxy, generic theme. I would like it to be XHTML/CSS/tableless.

I can't understand why this isn't working for me. I have made plenty of tableless (static) sites before. They have all worked ok. But when I try to make a tableless XOOPS theme, everything comes up blank.

I'm can't afford to spend any more time on it. I have been trying for nearly 4 months now. I don't have any idea how hard or easy this would be, or how long it would take, but if somebody would be interesting in helping me out, I would appreciate it. There would be *some* monetary compen$ation involved. I'm just a poor college student so I don't have much money now, but I'd pay something.

If anyone is interested, please let me know.

I'm more likely to check my email (in profile) instead of PM. Also, I use MSN, Yahoo, and AIM, so if you use those and want to add me, that would be great.

Thanks.

Hello all,

I was just wondering, does anyone know if a module like this exists? I currently use ClientExec but I thought it would be really sweet if somehow there was a module much like that but with integration into XOOPS, perhaps sharing some database information.

Thanks,

Chris

I think you're finding an even better way to get people to not reply.

You only waited 11 minutes before you posted the 2nd time. And another 12 minutes before you started the 3rd post. Calm down a little.

Well, as I said, I started shopping around for a new reseller (and I actually just signed up). I read some reviews for dependable resellers and narrowed my choices down to two.

I emailed both of them and said that my current host apparently has problems with XOOPS, and that I was looking around because I have about 15-20 XOOPS sites, and I wanted to know if they have ever had issues with XOOPS as well.

Both of them, and these are very large hosting companies, said that they have not had ANY problems with XOOPS. Come on, if my current host says XOOPS is #2 for exploiting, surely these other companies, which are just as big, would have had SOME problems right? ARgh, that really pisses me off.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that the problem isn't XOOPS, it was my host. Not that you didn't already know that.

THanks everyone who responded.

I'm not sure how that would have happened. My wife used to have a WordPress blog but she wanted XOOPS because she wanted photo gallery modules and stuff. I transferred all of her posts to the news module, but then I never had time to finish installing all the modules that she wanted. She didn't want anybody to see it since it wasn't finished so I disabled XOOPS and set up password protection for the whole directory. There were NO registered users.

Well, I'll tell you what I think now that I've been thinking about this:

1. Perhaps something was uploaded that shouldn't have been there. If so, maybe it was my fault, maybe it was theirs. I'm not sure *exactly* what happened because that account has been suspended and I can't access it to even look at it.

2. The support guy said:
Quote:
Xoops is one of those scripts that is hacked regularly. Probably #2 on our list of most highly exploitable scripts. I *wish* it weren't so popular so we could discontinue usage of it entirely.

I don't believe that. If that was the case they would not allow it to be installed, let alone offer automatic installation of it through Fantastico.

I guess I'll start looking around for a new host and see if they've had problems with XOOPS. I'm going to guess most of them say NO.
