XOOPS 2.0.16
PHP and mySQL version I don't know what my host is using.
just updated to WF-Downloads 3.1
server does allow uploads.
safe-mode enabled??? how do I do that.

You should now be able to access the module to see the error...

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare convertorderbyin() (previously declared in /homepages/46/d98822904/htdocs/ldsconservative/modules/wfdownloads/include/functions.php:722) in /homepages/46/d98822904/htdocs/ldsconservative/modules/wfsection/include/functions.php on line 495

I don't know how to fix that.

I can't understand why I am having trouble with downloads modules and those only. I have tried most of the downloads modules and most give me a blank screen when I go to that modules index page. The one that does work - RMDP - now won't let me add new downloads. Any advice?

DELETING trackback in weblog

I saw in the past some people have had trouble with spammers creating trackbacks that appear on your XOOPS weblog - I was having that same problem. some of my posts had over 50 trackbacks to websites and content that I don't approve of! This makes me mad and sad that someone would do this...

I found nothing that said how to disable trackback, but I did come up with a solution, that has worked perfectly so far.

You must have access to your mySql database...

Look for a TABLE that is titled ***_weblog_trackback (*** = the beginning prefix for tables on your website)

Delete that table ***_weblog_trackback - then when you go back to your site you'll notice that when you click on trackback it won't show anything.

To ensure that you are deleting the right thing you can view the content of ***_weblog_trackback and see that it's full of all the trackbacks to your site.

How do I do that?

I just tried PD-Downloads 1.2, and it also doesn't work.

http://www.latterdayconservative.com/modules/PDdownloads

just gives me a blank page

but I can access the admin pages.

Why would any download module I install not work? But all the rest do work?

I didn't change any of the lettercase of file names, also I did a test and uploaded a file that has capital letters and it kept it's letter-case. Are there certain files I should check to see if they are in upper-case?

I am trying to add a downloads module to my site and anything I tried just shows up as a blank page. I have tried this with older versions of XOOPS and have now updated to the most recent 2.2.3. After I install the module, I click on the downloads link from the menu on my page, but it just comes up blank. I even downloaded the personal pack for the most recent XOOPS version and used the updated wfdownloads in that.

Any suggestions?

Thank you all for your tips and advice.
I was able to change the background color by going in and adding some html to each block I wanted changed.

this is good enough for me.

here is an example what I added to the block:

<TABLE width="150">
<tr>
<TD style="width:100%; background-color:lightblue">

THEN ALL MY BLOCK CONTENT HERE

</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>

thanks for the advice, but I am still stuck.

I am a beginner when it comes to php/xoops programming. I have been able to change some things on my theme & style, but I still don't understand how to change the background color of a block.

If you wouldn't mind, Monique, or someone else who has done this, could you give me a simpler, or step-by-step explanation of how to do this?

I don't see an option to EDIT my first post that "advertises" my web site, so I will just remember for the future that this forum is for reviewing the technical aspects of a site.

To answer one of the questions. Our Constitution established a Republican form of Government, not a Democracy...

and to get back on track...

You do have a valid point that I should just be asking you to critique the technical aspects of my site.
