FYI

I just found out the actual release version number is 2.0.1, not 2.1

So far it's going beautifully, though we're still in development so we haven't touched on all the features yet.

That link bug is the only one I've come across so far.

One possible exception is that I'm having trouble figuring out the access priviledges for approving articles. I want them to be approved automatically and I can't figure out how to get that to work. I don't know if it's user error or a problem.

It's great, though!

Jack,

I just tried the download link again and didn't have any problems with the archive.

Jack,

I'm not sure who's in charge now, but the WF web site is running again, and a valid archive of WF-Sections 2.1 is available in it's alpha release:

http://wfsections.xoops2.com/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=1

I should have made it clear that I am just a user and I am not involved with the development. As such I can't comment on the lack of an official release notice. I just came across this bug and figured it would be good to let others know about it.

There is a minor bug in one of the WF-Sections 2.1 templates that causes links to a forum to be broken if the XOOPS core installation is not in the root directory.

On line 67 of the wfsection_article.html Smarty template, which displays individual articles, there is an incorrect Smarty tag reference to the base XOOPS URL.

The tag <{$xoopurl}> should be replaced with <{$xoops_url}>.

This has been reported to the developers, but anybody who has already downloaded the new version should be aware of this issue and the fix.

Thanks!

DamJamJim,

I would be happy to keep you up to date on my progress, and I might have a few questions for you that will help me in the development process.

Keep in touch.

The above is the design template for the form the users see

system_userform.html is not the Registration form, it is the login form. I still can't find a template for the Registration form, which appears to be built dynamically using the classes.

WF-Sections Beta - Main Menu

Hope Catzwolf finds this topic.

I am working with WF-Sections V2B3, which I downloaded prior to it being removed from public availability. Assuming I understand correctly, I think it is a good move to beta test within the module developers community first, but too late, I've already got it and I'm developing a site with it.

I am having difficulty with adding categories and/or documents to the Main Menu. Even though I've checked the "Add to Main Menu" boxes for various categories and documents, they are not showing up in the Main Menu even though WF-Sections and it's default sub-menues are there.

Anybody got a clue?

Also, Catzwolf, would it be possible to get an email address to send bugs straight to you?

Thanks!

MisterB,

I am fairly new to XOOPS as well, but I can give a general answer to the topic as a whole because I'm working on a non-profit site where I need to do the exact same kinds of things.

At this point, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to modify the Membership Registration to do what we want, though customizable registration is planned for the next major release of XOOPS.

So far I haven't found a separate module for membership administration either.

Within XOOPS you can assign members to groups, and then assign different groups different priviledges throughout the site.

Removing the "Register Now" from the Log In block should be a matter of going into the Administration -> Templates and finding the right block and editing it. Please note that before you can edit templates in the Templates administration section you must clone the Template Set, edit the cloned set, and choose the cloned set as the default set in Administration -> Preferences. If you do a few searches in the forums, you will find more about how to do this.

Additionally, since you are a beginner like me, please note that the templates you see in the Templates administration are stored in the database, even though there are file versions within the XOOPS folder. You cannot make changes to the files in the templates_c folder. You have to make the changes within the Templates adminstration so that the database is updated.

Anyway, I am planning to build my own membership administration module in the near future, but it could be three months before I can complete it. If you're interested, we could talk about what it should do.

Hope someone with more knowledge sheds more light on this subject, including a timeline for the next version and what kind of membership administration features it will have.

Thanks!
