Anyone with advice?

On another account with the same hosting company I have installed fckeditor into Drupal CMS and it works great. So I guess it is not the server at fault.

The XOOPS installation I'm trying to get FCKeditor on is installed in a subfolder of the root whereas the Drupal site of the other account is installed directly into the root, does this affect it?

I having trouble getting the extra content editors (fckeditor, koivi and inbetween)

I have uploaded them to MYXOOPSPATH/class/xoopseditor/

But when I go to add content I cannot access the editors.
I'm trying out many content modules (news, xfsection, cjaycontent..) and am still getting the default editor. I've looked in preferences and not had any luck.

I'm using a module called 'Magazine' which even allows you to choose an editor from a drop down menu before entering content. The installed editors are in the list, but once selected I just get the default text editor.

I can use the demo fine on www.fckeditor.net so my browser java is working fine. Tried in IE6 and firefox to get my different XOOPS editors but nothing.

Does this suggest I have not installed properly? Or is my webhosting not setup correctly or something? The rest of XOOPS works fine on it though.
I'm running XOOPS 2.2.3a
Linux server is Perl 5, PHP 4
Got an email from the hosting saying they were turning 'global registers off' if that affects anything.

Sorry if this is a silly question but I really need to get this working for others to enter content into the site, default editor is too clumsey for novices. Thanks

I don't know if I have installed any extra editors properly.
I have uploaded fckeditor to XOOPSPATH/class/xoopseditor/
and have koivi and inbetween installed too

But I cannot use any of them for News module, XF section etc.. I have tried with many article modules and don't get the option to change editor.

I'm using a module called 'Magazine' which allows you to choose your editor from a drop down menu at the top of the createarticle page, yet none of the editors appear when I choose them. It stays the default text editor.

Does this suggest I have not installed properly? Or is my hosting not setup correctly (but rest of XOOPS works fine on it)

Thanks for any help

Thanks for the pointer Lisa, that module seems to be more of what I was after. I really like it's ability to have different html templates for each article.
Just tweaking it now, hopefully it will work!

Thanks Biteronboard for quick response but I already checkde this and the pages I want to have the blocks appear on are not in the list, instead there is just an option for 'All module pages' which I don't want.

It's a new site I'm working on and I'm just laying out the structure before any content.

The sub-homepages at the moment are actually just articles in 'XF section' that I want seperate news blocks appearing on.. but maybe I am approaching this the wrong way.

Is there a way to add pages to the 'visible in' option of blocks admin?

Or a way to include a block within a XF section page?

Or a better way to make sub-homepages?

I'm after a website that has departments with their own front pages and showing only the latest news from their respective categories.

Sorry if I wasn't clear initially

to maybe make a bit clearer what I'm after..

is it possible to have a block appearing on particular pages rather than across the whole module?

Thanks

Hi, not sure if this is the correct place to post this but..

I'm using News 1.44 and want it's Recent News block to appear within some static page.

Basically what I'm trying to do is have several sub-homepages with a Recent News block appearing on each showing recent news from the different news categories. Each subhomepage has it's own News category so the idea is to have Recent News block showing the news for respective categories.

Any suggestions?

Hi
Having a 'recent articles' blocks for different categories is exactly what I need too. Using Xfsection 1.10
I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know the code to just show certain categories in the list of recent articles?

Or is there a different module that will do it?
Thanks

xcGallery & xfSection mods: Can users modify their posts?

As in they cannot edit or delete another person's posts but can edit/delete their own. Don't want to make users Admins of the respective modules.

This will cut the admin time of my site dramatically if I can set this!
Thanks!

OK.
The modules I am trying to give self-editing permissions to are the default XOOPS News module, xcGallery, xfSection.

Would like to not lose content, so changing to different module that offers this is not an option? Maybe there is a hack for the above modules?

Thanks for any help
