how does xoops send out emails?

Hi, XOOPS sends out emails fine, but when i try to use the mail() function in a php script i make it doesnt work.

Can someone tell me how XOOPS manages to send email so i can use the same method to send emails from my own php scripts?

Hi, i need to mail out a newsletter to my 1000 members.

I tried even news. but if i have more than 20 or so ppl on the list i get a timeout error in the middle of sending.

Does anyone have suggestions, very desperate at this stage..............

you could very easily make an empty block and put your links in it.

Hi, i want to make 1 block for my left column different from all the other left blocks.. e.g. i dont want it to have anything in it, just be a blank square, and i want to be able to set details for each one separate of the general theme..

how can i do this?

oh,

how come XOOPS has the option on registration 'receive notificaation/newsletter from site'

is there an internal way to send newsletter, or a module i can install?

i have about 1500 users, and expect many more in the future.

Hi, when a new user registers, it sends them the confirmation email.. as well as one to the admin to say a new user has registered....

BUT when i try to send an email as the admin from the administration menu in XOOPS it says successfuly sent but no emails go out.

Do they both use the same function/process to email?

ANy suggestions on what i can check to get the admin sending process working ?>

nah mine is different, all of my blocks are missing..

i just looked in the MySQL database and the xoops_newblocks table is full with all the blocks...

i dont understand!?!?!!!!!!
