Re: Updating Special.

You will need to use the patches starting with 2.0.4, 2.0.5 up to 2.0.6 if you just want to overwrite changed files. Otherwise, you could just use the full version of 2.0.6 but don't upload mainfile.php, protect that one because it has all your database settings.

After you either patch or upload a full version, make sure you go into modules admin and update all the modules there.

Re: XOOPS installed - Now what???

Your answers are on this site in the forums. :)

First, go to blocks admin from your administration menu. You choose what blocks you want visible on your front page there. You also choose whether you want the blocks on the left, center, center-left, center-right or right side of your site.
You also choose what order you want them to be in, in the column.

Go to groups admin and check all the boxes for webmaster so that you have admin control over everything. Then modify your anonymous users and your registered users groups to choose what blocks they can see on your page and what modules they have access too.

In admin menu, you also have a preferences link, click that. Go through all the links in your preferences area and modify them to your liking.

Go to modules admin and install all the modules you want on your site. If you want modules that are not included in XOOPS download, you have to come here and browse the downloads/modules area to find ones you'd like to have. Then you have to download them, unzip them and upload them into the /modules folder on your server. Read the readmes!

You will have to try out everything in your system admin to learn what it all does. I did. Answers to questions you have as you learn, can usually be found on the forums here using the search form. What questions you have, someone else has had them too. :)

Re: Selected module does not exist!

His mainfile.php is fine. He has a site and some modules are working. Since some work and some are showing "module doesn't exist" then his problem is with those modules or the database.

Re: Selected module does not exist!

Have you compared the files sizes and files in your modules folders with original copies to make sure they are all there and correct in size? Have you checked your database to see if there are any errors there?

Re: MyAds... Help!

Where are you changing the configuration for MyAds at? Do you have cache on with that module?

Re: Selected module does not exist!

Your module paths are showing correctly in the links for them and you have the xoopsmembers module working correctly. So make sure you have all the other modules (the ones you have problems with) installed completely (this means the correct file sizes too).

Re: Selected module does not exist!

Check your XOOPS database in phpmyadmin and see if there are any errors listed for your tables. It sounds to me like you could have either a database problem, or you don't have all the files for your modules uploaded correctly. Look at your files on your server and compare them with original files and check your database. If you find nothing wrong after doing this, we can look at other solutions to your problems.

You may have to try re-installing XOOPS if all else fails.

Re: I have this weird problem

The webhost I used before my current one, had Fantastico installed into my Cpanel. The whole time I was with that webhost, I had to reupload files all the time because they would end up being smaller on the server than in my original copy of xoops. I never had that problem with my current host or ones before that didn't have Fantastico. So I believe, from my own experience anyway, that Fantastico affects your server whether or not you use it to upload your xoops/cms's using it.

Re: I read it but -

Hi DonXoop! I installed the autologin hack for 2.0.6 after upgrading my XOOPS and it isn't working for me or my users. It has the remember me check box and I uploaded all the files in the hack but no go. I was hoping that someone would fix this. :(

Re: I read it but -

I'm with you HughG! I'd love to have my auto login work right. I have members bugging me even now to have it work again. Lots of people don't want to have to remember or type in usernames and passwords for sites that they go to everyday. It's inconvenient. I'm hoping that this will be fixed in XOOPS in the near future. :)
