This clearly is a time of awesome change for Xoops. I have been checking out Xoops for about a week now and it seems to me that so many enhancements are coming in 2.6 (many of which currently cause problems for newbies). I am wondering if it is best to wait for 2.6 rather than learn a lot that will have to be unlearned. I was trying to learn from the book and frankly the 2 starter examples are already outdated causing considerable frustration trying to figure out why. I am curious what others might think or if they could suggest (knowing what is coming) what area of Xoops is best to focus on now that won't have to be tossed out when 2.6 arrives. As an example, would it be wise to focus on the latest publisher with the bootstrap theme?

I saw an awesome presentation module Mamba was working on. I was wondering how it is coming along and wondering on a possible release date?

Ah ha! Having done research I now know what you mean by Bootstrap! It is great to know this is already implemented in Xoops.

Thanks for that info. I had read forum posts, perhaps dated, that said otherwise. As soon as I get more familiar with Xoops, I will do exactly that.

I a filing that exact request later today. Great minds think alike! I use HostGator and have various sites which get literally thousands of hits everyday. Given past experience a total move of everything is enough to give me diarrhea. lol Hostgator has been VERY reliable but I will check out your recommendation, thanks.

Yes and from what I can see they allow selection of PHP versions on their dedicated servers. I am on a reseller account (shared servers). Right now the server is using PHP 5.2.17 and Xoops 2.51 so 2.5.6 will create issues. So I am left to just learn xoops using WAMP offline.
