You can search this forum for Extcal, it is still in development and one of the things that I posted here was that the approve/auto approve function does not work properly yet.

I believe it is the best module for Xoops and the latest beta shows nice functions and approvements.

For instance you can check the following post:https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=348376

Dear Andy,

Everyone can correct me if I am wrong, but imo you cannot change the standard dates from the form. The form in admin section is only there for the admin to add events. The date in the admin form will not affect the form for the regular users.

Andy, I do not have any problems with the dates; multiple tests done. Please note that you could have a different time zone than the user adding the events, this could give another time than the one entered. When you use tab to go to the next field it is also possible that the date/time changes to the date filled in at the Begin date/hour.

I also tested the permissions further: The events from a user with no auto approve show not in the list with items to approve but in the Home admin screen my events to approve show me one extra. Even when the user is able to auto approve, it counts up with one extra.
It is also visible for non-registered users in the calendar.

Besides this I do not seem to have any other problems with the permissions.

I will look further to the locations and the other functions Extcal has.

I created a new Xoops webpage with Xoops 2.5.5 and the latest Extcal from SVN.

The following remarks:
When adding an event to the calendar, the user does not get a notification but returns to a blank 'add an event' screen.
Can another currency than US (or none) be selected?
Can I disallow attachments?
When I allow registered users to add an event it is automatically shown in the calendar while I said in the preferences that the registered users cannot auto approve events.

The new versions looks great and I hope that I can contributed my 2 cents to the development of Extcal.

If someone wishes I can give access to my website with a admin/registered user password.

Anyone testing it any further to release extcal in final release? Thanks for the update.

Mamba, I did not plan to update my calendar with a beta. But Xoops 2.5.4 decided that my dates where handled differently than before. So I had to update in order to let people insert new events. Ofcourse I (and we) could not foresee that we would have other issues than only the date.

Hoping for a solution in the near future

Did someone here something from JJDai? Or does someone else have a solution? My website is not working properly and I want to fix it

As previously said I am working with the same version as Renetjuh.

And the following came to my eye: when previewing an event it shows different attachments that where once added (but now it is disallowed to add to a new event).

This is not a major thing, not be able to view details of an even is a larger problem

---
Edit: I was trying and have the following issue:
Testing with the permissions I gave anonymous users the edit permission. I saw that they still were not able to view and edit events. But now I cannot turn edit permissions off?
What changed with the permissions?

It does not seem to be a problem of the Xoops permission, anonymous users still have access to the calendar. Even when I give these users admin rights on the calender (in Xoops, not in Extcal) they still cannot see the details of the events.
Did the way Xoops handles the anonymous users changed with the upgrade and is it not copied into Extcal?

I copy all debug logs here:

Edit 2: a user let me know that even registrated users cannot see details. Apparently it are only webmasters who have rights to see details.

Mamba, can you clarify the multiple versions of Extcal?

- extcal included in basic module pack beta 1 -> working with modifications provided by Renetjuh
- extcal 2.36 beta 2 and/or 1 -> working, but has the incorrect date error
- extcal 2.22 -> still the yellow label
...

@Renetjuh

I have the same problem. Users not logged in cannot see the content of the event.

The beta 2 still has the error with the date format. While I use the English version I have no problems with names of days etc.

Running the Extcal from basic module pack beta 1 with the modifications from Renetjuh. (and it works :) )
