As the first benefit of upgrading XOOPS 2.6.0, I just ported Debugbar & Monolog Logger to XOOPS 2.5.12

Geekwright did really awesome job with implementing it in XOOPS 2.6.0, and I thought that it should be added to 2.5.12 too!

If you’re using Ray for debugging, the good news is that the Debugbar module also includes RayLogger that you can use for debugging Smarty templates.

The XOOPS DebugBar module provides two complementary debugging tools:

DebugBar (always available) -- an in-browser toolbar that shows queries, timers, blocks, Smarty variables, errors, and included files directly at the bottom of every page.

Ray (optional) -- sends the same debug data PLUS template-level debug info to the Ray desktop app, giving you a separate, searchable, color-coded debug window.

They work independently. You can use DebugBar without Ray. If Ray is installed, both run simultaneously -- DebugBar in the browser, Ray on your desktop. More info in https://github.com/XOOPS/XoopsCore25/blob/master/htdocs/modules/debugbar/docs/ray-integration.md

Definitely useful tools for debugging!

XOOPS Development Team has added a PhpUnit test suite to XOOPS 2.5.12 that hopefully will help us with some regression testing:

need to mention it is a framework cause that is primary as a portal system what XOOPS is designed for building things like the new Wordpress from matt mugullen WOOPS : How that get on there! from the existing libary I suggest it is altered in the following way for QA purposes to also fill the 2 lines in the theme

For this reason I opened this discussion, to understand what users are using and why I'am getting errors loading for js and css default as xoops.css, xoops.js, jquery.js, jquery.ui.css and jquery.ui.js

Anywhere in the page I insert them give me error.

Another very important thing is that if I'm going to do the verification for seo w3c.validator for css, tells me that I have to rewrite all the files, because it does not yet support html5 -moz- directives and to help me rewrite all css files without the corners of the box that are created.

How much you have to wait before all browsers adapt to new encodings js and css?

I can just take a web space dedicated, let's see if that works better

About fixing bugs IMO we should speed up the review process.
Many bugs are reported and many bugs are reported with the suggested solutions or patches.
Now we have an active core leader So IMO nothing is more important than reviewing open bugs in 2.5.x or even in 2.6.0

You refreshed my memory?

I installed locally on xoops 2.5.6 and Chrome I get blank page, while with FireFox works in half.

I inserted the line of code in the file mainfile.php

require_once XOOPS_ROOT_PATH.'/class/logger/firephp/FirePHPCore/fb.php';

As it is written in the documentation

In fact I installed an antivirus but did not detect this malware because reading on other sites in the network is created so as not to be detected if installed with other programs, and since AOL seems harmless, it is easy to fall for it inside.

However, as soon as I finished updating all my sites,'ll start with TDMCreate 1.3.9

I will look through what you are doing with your unit testing and may try to build some for the database structure. Another member and I are looking at upgrading the database structure for 2.6 and we are not sure what the testing structure will need to be.

Other than installing PHPUnit is there anything else that needs to be installed to be able to test?

Our initial work is very promising so I would like to try testing some functions shortly.

Thanks for your hard work!

Oh and as it turned out we were only briefly introduced to Unit Tests and Visual Studio does most of the work for you so it wasn't a very good learning experience...

Thankfully this was not a security issue at all. Timgno has now discovered that the host upgraded the PHP version and it temporarily broke Xoops.

If anyone is reviewing their server security, my recommendations are (still) 1) create an htaccess file entry that keeps perl off your server and 2) set up a cron job to run PhpMysqlAutoBackup every day. This enables you to have an off-site backup of any MySQL database, not just Xoops.

If you allow your Xoops users to upload files and want those backing up too, SiteVault backs up DB files and site files in one timed operation.
