How do you add content to your main Home Page (i.e. the index file that is visible when you enter your website domain name)?

I tried searching everywhere in Xoops 2.4.5, including Blocks administration, and I cannot seem to figure out how you add content to the "center" of the page, where the content is supposed to go?

I figured out how to add blocks, and menu links on sides, but I cannot figure out how to add content to the middle of the home page?

I also want to figure out if it is possible to put the items in the Block administration on the center of the home page, because I cannot seem to figure out how to do that?

Please help me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

There are three ways you can do this.

1. Use blocks by positioning them where you ant on the front page. You can add custom blocks easily via the admin side and you can use the Hack on Xuups.org (or com) to place blocks anywhere you want via Smarty templates.
2. You can have any module you want to feature as your home page. So if you use a module such as WF-Channel to add html/pages etc then you can set a page and have that as your front page.

You can set a module as your home page by doing the following:
1 .Go into the admin cpanel.
2. Navigate to Site Preferences and then General Settings.
3. Near the top you shall see the option 'Module for your start page'
4. Use the pull-down selector and select a module you want to feature as your homepage.
5. You can edit the template:

/modules/system/template/system_homepage.html

and fill that with loads of html and images (if you feel like going down that route lol).

I have done this from memory so... I think that is right though.

Hope that helps.

Oh, wow, that explains just what I needed.

I was trying to use the Content module for content management, even though I seen the WFChannel content management module, I was afraid that it might be impossible for me to use it.

Therefore, I do not like how the pages look with the current Content module that I am using, so I am now upgrading to the WFChannel content management module.

Thanks a lot!

Using method 1 with adding a custom block worked about 95% for me.

When the block text was entered, I pressed "Preview" ; all looked okay, but when it was updated, all the line breaks were missing, so all the text appears as just one big chuck of text. :(

I did try adding a few <br> but that didn't work. I used HTML in the editor.

.. later, hmm, actually putting in the <br> did work out, although it looks weird in the preview mode.
