I won't re-create
all of my notes on FCKeditor for XOOPS 2.3.x and postings and such here. However, I will tell you what my release (FCKeditor 2.6.3-MB01a) provides — and you can always use a diff tool to see all the changes I've made to make this work and get the details in my notes.
My latest update includes the theme CSS in the editor (my users like this much better) and this version provides the following key updates over what the XOOPS release has:
- WYSIWYG Editor uses Theme CSS
- Custom Configurations
- Image Uploads Enabled
- Enable Upload Subdirectories
- HTML Special Characters Fix
- Default Upload Directory
- Relative URLs
- Upload File Rename with User/Date
- Upload File Permissions

I hope this helps make your sites better. I love the editor for its features and configuration capabilities.
Note: FCKeditor released 2.6.4 in January with some great updates, and now they seem to be migrating to and focusing on CKeditor, which is where this will likely have to move to eventually. I'll get to that update soon, but need to check the changes and such first. Spelling is a great update.
