Hi everyone.

I'm fairly new to XOOPS and I have a question that is hopefully easy to answer.

I would like to incorporate the Expose4 flash gallery directly into my XOOPS website.

http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/expose/

I have seen a few ways to do this by using "Wrapper" modules, however, we need to be able to allow/deny access to Expose using the XOOPS authentication.

Is this possible? What is the best way to go about it? We want to keep our training materials out of the prying eyes of our competitors, so we need to prevent any direct-linking access to our content which bypasses user authentication.

I would appreciate suggestions for how to best incorporate Expose4 into our XOOPS site.

Because, the alternative is that we migrate everything to Joomla which directly supports that flash gallery.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi again,

I just want to follow up with this question since it seems to have been viewed a fair number of times, but there's been no response yet.

Am I asking the wrong question here? Or, was my original question not clear.

Maybe I'll rephrase the question:

How does XOOPS user authentication work?

How do I keep external people from using a URL to jump directly to content on my server?

I am not asking how to set permissions. I fully understand that I can restrict access .. however, when using WF Channel, or other wrapper modules, the URL that is created seems to be accessible to anyone, even if I have set it to only allow access to members ..

thanks for your help ..

I don't think your question is very clear. Perhaps that is a bug?

I checked access was limited to a folder by copying the url. I then logged out and tried to access the url directly. It denied access.

"You don't have the right to access this forum.
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here"

So the authorization seems to work. But then I am not using your software.

Perhaps you should ask the module authors.
