First Xoops Site

My site is: http://thrillerotica.com/ (no adult content, yet)

It's a site for writers of Erotic Thrillers and Romantic Suspense to submit their works for review by other members.

I installed XOOPS a few weeks ago but was daunted when I went to the main page and saw nothing but a header and a small menu. So, I backed it out and installed Joomla but after three weeks of getting nowhere with Joomla I decided to try XOOPS again.

24 hours later and it is almost ready to go live! I am still building the FAQs but the basic structure is there.

I would love to hear any feedback and advice.

Your site is quite uniformed and an interesting purpose.

Yes XOOPS does freak you out on the initial opening after installation. I felt the same way after my installatiion only there was no going 'back' to Joomla because that is made for the creators only. Non intuitive!

Xoops should at least have an instructional start page as does Joomla so it doesn't look like 'nothting' an scare new users away.

Hint:
Try and fill your forums with at least 1 post...since you have RSS on everything, google will see this as nothing, which it doesn't like...

Thanks for the advice Wiz. I've added a description post to each forum.

Maxima, I think just a link to the documentation would be great. XOOPS is documented 100x better than Joomla.
