hello

i moved my site recently from a windows host that actualy was a personal computer at a friend's home to a profesional payed server, all went well except that i noticed that the number of visitors droped a lot under the half of number had before, now i'm takin it's a meta tag keywords and description that are spidered by the search engines,
how are those things interact with the .htaccess file linux hosting has?
Can i have some directions on how will this .htaccess file should look like, is it safe to delete it even though i noticed that it's genereated again?

thank you

I own a hosting company, that is primarly windows based, but we do have a few linux boxes , but that file is usually used for setting directory access pemissions, file permissions, custom script mappings \ custom PHP script configurations. Deleting it wont matter, as the server will just replace it. This file will not block spiders etc etc.

Use robots.txt like XOOPS has in it already.
