several months ago, i decided to try out the XOOPS 2.1 branch in a website that i was building up at that moment.
Back then it seems to be a good idea.

Since the beginning the site had some performance problems created by the 2.1 version. When comparing with other sites hosted on the same site and installed with the 2.0 branch, the difference was important.

In the last days, i have been trying to migrate that site to the 2.2.3 version but i am not having success. THe footer is still displaying the 2.1 signature, althoug i have overwrite all the files with teh 2.2.3 version and run the xoopsupdate function.

Does anyone know if there is a documented way to migrate to the 2.2.3 versions?

didn't think xoops_update.php was to be used for updating 2.1 to 2.2.3 it's only for updating 2.0 to 2.2.3

with regards to the rest, did you update system module by going to admin, modules, administration??

also the footer is defined in admin under system tools / meta footer etc.
