I'm doing a website for all my family and friends to get hardware buying advice. I get that many requests. So I'm basically looking for a simple module or whatever XOOPS can offer to recommend monthly buying guides probably split into a few categories (budget, mainstream, etc). Rather then installing numerous modules and messing with them all, I'm hoping someone here can recommend one they are already familiar with to save me the trouble. Thanks.

If I read your post correctly your intent is to communicate with them, if so then I'd suggest CBB. There you can post threads regarding separate items and have them post questions on your opinions of each.
