Hello. I'm using the default web forum for XOOPS 2.0.9.2. When a thread is read in the forum it will show in that browser and/or computer as having been read. However, if the user switches web browsers or computers, then the same thread shows as NOT having been read.

Does anybody know anything about this problem?

Regards,
DB

That information is stored in cookies, which are specific to a browser, so it's "working as designed".

This has been discussed often.

I think it would be better to store the information in the database, rather than in cookies.

I have to agree with you. I never noticed this issue in phpBB 2x, I assume it must store cookies in the database.

There is a very nice module for using phpBB2 within Xoops, but I was concerned about the difficulty of making security updates or version upgrades.
