Can't delete users from the Admin group

Hi,

Hope this isn't something covered a bunch of times but several searches didn't get any results.

I need to delete a user from the Administrators group. When I select his name and click delete I am taken to a blank page and the action is not carried out. I have made sure that the user is not a member of Administrators on the user_edit page.

I can delete users from other groups. I have the same problem with IE6 and Firefox1.0.

Am I missing something stupid here?

If you are taken to a blank page, turn on php debug to get a view of the error. Post back and we will find a solution.

When you see a blank page that means an error has occured.

Thanks for the quick response.

I have turned on PHP Debug in the prefs but still get a blank page with no info. Not knowing where to look for the php log, I found the following in /var/log/messages.

Feb 23 22:17:14 gpl httpd: PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in ../html/modules/phpwiki/lib/main.php on line 173
Feb 23 22:17:29 gpl httpd: PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected '}' in ../html/modules/phpwiki/lib/Template.php(124) : eval()'d code on line 6

The absolute paths are correct.

Please edit out your paths to more generic terms, security risk for your site.

Let me do some investigating.

What php and MySQL versions are on your server?

I still get a blank page and no delete from admin group. Tried to delete the user but cannot since they are "admin".

I appreciate the help. Any further ideas?

Not sure if I can help but the phpwiki module shouldn't be involved with deleting a user. Either that error happens somewhere else or is getting in the way with the delete. Maybe deactivate the wiki and see if things clear up.

Are you trying to delete the user account or just remove the user from the admin group? If trying to delete the account can you first remove them from the group?

You might also try updating the admin group. That usually cleans up other issues but might help here too.

Your PHP/MySQL versions are o.k. but I would suggest updating the mysqlclient at some point. You don't mention the Apache version but I assume that works fine too.

Will do. Unfortunately the site is busy 100K+ hits a day. The wiki is popular so the timing will be interesting.

BTW, this is the first issue I have had with XOOPS and it is running a busy site. Thanks to all for the great work.

Can't delete the user without deleting them from the Admin gorup. Can't delete them from the admin group. Catch 22

Did that. I also created another test group and made this user a member of that test group so he wouldn't be orphaned.

I do appreciate the support here.

if you are running 2.0.9+, try adjusting the group membership from the "Edit User" screen: System -> Find Users (search for uname) -> Click on "Edit" for user.

Ya. Sorry I missed posting that.

He is currently set to ------ but I have also tried explicitly setting him to Moderator status and then attempting to delete him from Admin. No joy.

I have also peeked under the hood with phpmyadmin but I can't fid the appropriate table where group rights are related to userid. Assuming that I can edit the sql files directly, is this a terrible idea?
