I'm feeling really stupid having to ask this, and a very big minus for Xoops...

But...
How do I log in to the administration section of my newly (clean) installed Xoops?

I'm trying out a lot of CMS'es, but I never encountered one I could not even get in!... :(

when I try to get to <address>/admin.php, it's directing me to the home page again...?
Why not to the login page?
Where is the login page?

Thanks in advance.

Login to administration?
do you have a login box after you install your xoops?

else just type
http://www.yourwebsite.com/user.php

type with the login name and password when you set up your xoops. You need to login with your administrative account first before you can access to admin.

if anyone can do this, how secure do you think this cms will be?

Use <address>/user.php and click on the Administration Menu in the User Menu block to get into the Admin Control Panel.

What login box?
It is just showing some default page with some empty menu stating 'Login' and 'Main Menu', but nothing clickable or input fields, just plain nothing....

http://www.yourwebsite.com/user.php

this is giving me the exact same screen as it did in index.php, so no place to type anything in...

secure, because it should automaticly redirect me to the login page or show a login form..

I'm building specialized software/cms systems myself, and it doesn't matter which page/file the user opens, it will always show the login form if he/she isn't logged in and afterwards he/she will go the the page he/she was trying to open...

I'm trying XOOPS out because I don't want to build a CMS for text/general websites, hoping this one will satisfies my customers needs...

by right, you shud be able to see the login box after you install XOOPS on your domain.

you are still not able to login?

-check if you chmod the necessary folders and files
-test it with other browsers and see if there is any changes.

I am not a MAC user so not really sure if i miss out anything.

Hi,
First of all XOOPS is kool for an end user and Administrators. Thanx to all the brains behind it..

Actually i have 2 very Newbie questions. Sorry to ask such questions but..
(1) i just installed XAMPP v1.4.10 and then i installed the latest Xoops. (i run Mozilla Firefox v1, PHP v5.0.2, Apache v2.0.52, MySql)
I successfully installed the XOOPS and i got the login page.. The login page has only 2 things in the side menu.. "Login" and "Main Menu" which doesnt contain any Hyperlinks that can take me to login page. Then how can i login as admin??

(2) Secondly, after i close the browser, and if i want to get into this Post-install page... i couldnt as the installation script is starting again.. And when i try to reinstall, it says : "directories already exist"

what should i do now?? i am stuck..
kindly help,
Thanks in advance..
