I have noticed over the past month that herko has basicaly taken ONO's place what really ticked me off this morning is that ONO is not even in the webmaster list on this site anymore regardless if he is still in charge or not he should be left in that list as he is the original founder of xoops. I can't find anything about ONO leaving in the forums or news and we have not been informed none of us have this sort of stuff ticks me off i don't miss little things like this....

What exactly is happening i think it's about time we are told. I was told by a member "not mentioning who" but a member of the XOOPS community that has been here well before me and he thinks that the XOOPS community is going down the drain there havnt been updates in a good while and things are not looking good this kinda worry's me when real old timer XOOPS members say this.........

Herko if you can please explain this would be appreciated.

His profile still has him as webmaster, and last login date of: 2004/6/10 16:02 - so its not so long since he's been here...

that is some good news nice to know he hasn't left us yet. However i think he should still be on the front page above herko and the other's.

What do you mean things aren't looking good? there are still dsome great mods being ported and well, IMO, it's very stable.

I have been very happy with xoops...and must admit I dont visit as often as used to...but that's mainly because I am so satisfied with what I got and am still unlocking it's secrets.

I understand your concern...but I think you should be careful when you say or imply that things are going down the drain. Everytime I visit the #'s are growing, not fading!

Cheers!

Onokazu has been concentrating on the Japanese community recently, after he has stepped back as the lead core developer (this was announced).

Because of the fact that he is inactive as a xoops.org webmaster, we changed his status to prevent misuse (always a good policy to keep as few people as full webmasters on your site).

So kazu isn't gone, and I certainly don't want him to leave. He IS the founder and creator of XOOPS, for a very large part. He deserves the respect and status that comes with that (but is that Webmaster?). I'll give him a good spot

As for the XOOPS member who thinks the community is going downn the drain, I disagree. The Community is very much alive and kicking, with many new users and many people supporting others in these forums. The development is also going strong: many new modules are released every month. XOOPS 2.0.7 with a looong list of bugfixes is about to be released, and XOOPS 2.1/2.2 is in development. So I'd say things are moving rather well, actually.

Herko
