I have an issue with my XOOPS and I was hoping someone could help me out here.

when I mail users I get an error like this:

Could not instantiate mail()
Could not send mail to xxxxx


xxxx being the users name. now for mail accounts that are located on the mail server localy the mail goes through but for users that have mail on the outside world i get the above error.

My guess it's the restrictions on my mail server. can someone conferm this. this is also true for for users that try to regester the site tells them that it cannot send mail and to contact the mail administrator.

am I on the right path?
