submit news for specific members

Hello,
Bigtime newbie here. I looked around and can't figure it out - which is no real surprise, as the only thing I can do is html. I was wondering if there was a way to set up the news section so that only specific members could submit news - instead of everyone.

Wait a little, and we'll have a beta of a new News module with exactly that functionality.

We've been set back a little recently, but it shouldn't take long now.
