We are pleased to announce that Christelle Gaulupeau (Cesag) will be leading the XOOPS Testing/Quality team.

For those of you who are visiting our Forums here, you know her very well. She is tirelessly testing modules, provides us with fixes, and also does translations into French.

In May she won the "XOOPSer of the Month" Award for her contributions.

Recently she also became the Admin for XOOPS France.

We are very happy to have her as part of our XOOPS family.

And we would like to encourage everybody to join the XOOPS Testing/Quality team and help her with it. This will help us to make better modules and better XOOPS.

For discussion related to Quality Assurance Team & Process, we have a special forum for it - please post any topics related to it there.

Just the day I say I do not have time to look after newbb's bugs, hehe.
I promise to do my best.
Thank you very much, and thank you for your trust!

Congrats!

Hopefully this will be the start of many people adding their services to the betterment of Xoops!

Quality Assurance testing is certainly an area we needed someone.

Cool

Congratulations Christelle. It's a very big comfort to know you'll be in the other end of the releases to give the coding a good testing.

For me you have been a gigantic help. I could not think of anyone more deserving this position

Congradulations Cesag, could you for any issues with my modules (And everyone else) use the issues section of my Google Code area, http://code.google.com/p/chronolabs

I think we will need to write a module for you on xoops.org where people can queue modules for you to QC before declared safe for release, we might actually use xoops.asia for this I think, can you contact me to discuss on one of my IM - Skype prefered.

Actually I think the better process would be this:

  • Module and Details Uploaded to xoops.asia with news article
  • QC Ticketing and Reticketing done on xoops.asia
  • Once QC is passed team leader clear module and it is via REST API Queue with news and module section articles

Thanks, Once again congrats

I think the best is to centralize the bugs on xoops.org.
People come here.
I prefer communication by email rather than anything else. Otherwise you'll wait a long time my answers because I'm not good at communicating in another language than mine

I think that is a really good idea.

I agree that the more Xoops users that test a module the better chance there is of solving bugs. However, if Cesag could check that modules at least install properly and work (more or less) as intended before they are announced on XO, then the debug process should run a lot smoother for the developer and for users.

A module that allows developers to submit their module for initial quality approval would be very helpful IMHO.

Only problem is xoops.org doesn't have the storage for ZIP files etc as the database in 10 years has become quiet large... It will still post news and download information and so on xoops.org once a module is approved via REST API and poeple puting there username on here that the articles are to be published under.

Sure np, I will email you
