Modules: SmartBlocks and SmartProfile in version 1.0

Following feedback on the release candidates released last week, Cusix Software and SmartFactory has flushed out a few bugs and released final versions 1.0 of SmartBlocks and SmartProfile.

You can download them in our download section:

System Requirements:

* XOOPS 2.0.15 or higher 2.0.x
* PHP 5.0+
* SmartObject v0.9+

well i uploaded the smart profiles and smart blocks into the testing site and they didnt work.
i can only get one page out of each module, so with a little research i found that these modules need PHP5

I found theis info from HERE

so i need to turn these modules off till i can get my host to upgrade to PHP5, but i have one question.....
Will the new PHP5 hold any conflicts with and of the older modules and programs?

Glad you found it, but please read the system requirements when you download a module.

You would have found

maybe with some very old modules that doesnt developed in a year or two.
eg: Xhelp < 0.8 ( poor Help Desk )
but i dont see any problem with new ones

but in smartprofiles there are no fields that lets them choose their avatar when users view their profiles.

of course there is.

try clicking the edit avatar button at the top of the profile page. it works exactly the same as the default avatar editor because the avatar editor is built into XOOPS core!!

Erhm... Vaughan.
There is no "edit avatar" button at the top of the profile page (except in CVS that I committed earlier today )

So - Avatar is coming shortly, disclaimer will only show on the first registration step, if enabled, and there will most likely be a photo/image field type as well.

Well that is a kick in the head.

My host will not upgrade to php 5 says it will crap too many sites at this time.

No Smartblocks for me
