Modules: CBB 3.04 RC3 Released

CBB 3.04 RC3 is released, mainly for further improvement on performance (memory usage) and compliant xthml/css.

We look forward to your help with debug and your ideas for better layout. In RC4, skalpa and me will work on output clean-up and cosmetic changes, as well as changes according to new features in XOOPS 2.014.

I still have the _bb_posts_text
The posts_text, I have remove have gone, yet I can't seem to update or sync because of the diffrences now..

Sould I spend time trying to fixing a diffrence of about 150 spammer being clever messages ....

or can you come up with a quick fix to make the sync, remove unwanted removed posts...

Does turning Sync at update work to remove unwanted posts stored in _bb_posts_text?

They will be kept in database till expiring:
$customConfig["pending_expire"] = 7; (days)

- How to fix the text box of meessage to full. You can see at:

if not, plz use templates in RC3

the pending_expire can be changed in include/plugin.php

currently we don't have official solutions for spam tho there are a few hacks available.
I would suggest to disable anonymous posting if your site is sensitive to spam.

Renewed database so nothing I have removed from post_texts? Yet still shows this?

Also changed expire to 2 days, does it take time to renew? Tried update and sync, yet shows that error each time on both?

I get the same update error as Wizanda. But there doesn't seem to be any problems.

EDIT: It seems there are problems, the Topic Count in each forum is not correct. It shows one more than the actual number of posts.

plz let me know your MySQL version, especially if it is older than 4.10.

Yes, there will be NO (sorry, the "no" was missing) subsequent problems if the queries fail but the removal will not be executed.

Everything was running well until a moment ago. Had some weird things going and and tried to update the module again (from the modules admin area in XOOPS 2.2.4)

I forgot to delete the xoops22 stuff out of the Frameworks directory.

I would like to know, if there is hack, to post in any particular forum/topic by email. Like it may scann a mailbox and posts will appear in the forum.
Any such feature in pipleline?

I have been looking into this as well, but have not found anything.
I'm gonna need integration with Mailman, so I'm looking into this, but from a Group membership kind of way.

Here is what my senario will look like (I think):
1: XOOPS Group get's data about listserv details.
2: Member get's Group access = XOOPS add member to listserv.

If you would like to integrate a CBB forum with a listserv, it's easy to Send to the list (set up a 'deamon user' that get's notification with fulltext messages).
The tricky part is to get listserv messages back again.
1: You would need a cron job, or a listserv system that can post via http. Or, you need to have a hook on every CBB forum pageload that checks the account for the forum and add new messages to the forum + post them on behalf of the XOOPS user.

It's possible, but need some work...

but i've the same problem as terrion. (on update from cbb 3.04rc2 or sync forums).

and others problem with permissions for forums.

Well Gibaphp joinned my site last night to help with the Bible, yet...I recieved notification of a new welcome message, yet when I looked no message?

That has happened twice since update, is a fix coming PHPPP on the update errors people have reported and is that the problem?

Yes, I am using RC3 with problem, I have just copied template of RC3 and upgraded again - the problem is still there. See it
