Modules: ZentrackXoops 2.6.0.4 RC2 Released

The 2nd Release Candidate of ZentrackXoops, a fully customizable help desk, bug tracking, and project management system, has just been released.

In addition to the new features in RC1, the following major enhancements have been implemented:

- Module administration moved to Xoops Admin System.
- Module and Admin access fully handled by Xoops Groups
- Xoops and Module User management has better integration. Some security issues from RC1 resolved
- A few cosmetic improvements

Thanks for a quick turnaround release!

Unfortunately, I'm back again from the comments related to the RC1 post.

With this release (completely removed RC1, installed RC2), I am still not able to get into the module at all. Whenever I click on zenTrackXoops in the Main Menu, I get the error message below:

I am running XOOPS 2.0.13.2 and mysql 4.1.10.

I'm getting started with this module now...just trying to figure out how things work and their suitability to our work-flows here at the office.

I don't know if this is appropriate here, if not, please let me know where it would be better to post this type of feedback. Here goes...

Attachments
First off, setting 'attachment_types_allowed' to 0 doesn't seem to work as advertised. I'm not able to create attachments of any type with 0. They all return an invalid type error with an expected type of '?'. I guess this is a bug.

But, even if I do specify some file types so that I can test the attachment process, it doesn't really work as I would expect it to. For instance, I can post HTML or GIF files as attachments. The image files, however, cannot be viewed since the 'viewAttachment.php' file doesn't seem to know what to do with files of type GIF. OK, so what about the HTML type. Well, it does process it, but whether 'viewAttachment.php' understands and correctly processes the attachment or not, I'm left with a blank white page (either showing the correct text or an error message) that takes me out of the zenTracks/Xoops environment.

This behavior doesn't seem to be in the spirit of the module. I would think, at worst, you would still be wrapped in the XOOPS engine, and, at best, always able to return to the ticket view (without having to hit your browser's back button obviously).

If I had my preference, I would rather the ticket page showing the available attachments simply provide for the attachment's download whenever a line item is clicked. Does that make sense?

E-mail
E-mails sent out by the system don't seem to be formatted in a way that Lotus Notes consumes well. Carriage Returns show up as little black boxes. Is this something that can be remedied via a system setting? Is this something that I just have to deal with because I'm using Lotus Notes (not my choice, believe me!)? Any thoughts here are greatly appreciated. Here is a sample screenshot:

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have more to say as I keep evaluating this software. Let me just say that I am delighted with it so far and am impressed at it's functionality. I can't wait to see it fully functional as I plan to roll it out to our Intranet Portal and use it extensively!

Glad to see you're making some progress

I think you make have discovered an 'undocumented feature' regarding the '0' for allowable file types. I will look into that for a future release.

FIX FOR FILE TYPES ISSUE:

edit ./zentrack/actions/upload.php around line 76. Replace the IF statement with the following:

The email summary should be a simple one to fix. This is likely caused by me mixing Windows file with Linux files or vice versa in the distribution. The email templates probably have CR/LF at the end of each line and probably needs to be Linuxed. You can do this easily yourself by editing the .template files in the following directory and remove the spurious characters:

./zentrack/includes/templates/emai/

In future I recommend that you use the ZentrackXoops Module Forum on SourceForge for any help that you need. I monitor that rather than the news threads on Xoops.

I have just released 2.6.0.4 (Final) but can't seem to post a new News Article - hopefully an Admin is looking into it for me :(

This release incorporates the following major features since the last major release. The first two items are new since RC2:

- Added two XOOPS Blocks: My Tickets, Quick Ticket (new since 2.6.0.4RC2)
- Implemented egate email gateway functionality (new since 2.6.0.4RC2)

- Module User Management screens with tighter integration with the XOOPS user table
- Module administration moved to XOOPS Admin System.
- Module and Admin access fully handled by XOOPS Groups
- Keyboard shortcuts
- Filters to list window
- Updated contacts section
- Customizable multiple-select fields
- A few bug fixes
