these days were not my best days for me but i managed to release a variation of an existing theme to christmas.

It's simple and clean, valid xhtml transitional and css.

The centerblocks in this theme surround the Content of xoops modules so you might play with blocksettings if you want. If you know a bit CSS you may float the centerblocks left and right but you will know what you want.

This theme allows you to display One, Two or No sideblock by settings in blockadmin. I love to show a forum with full width of a theme.

It's attractive, but if the contents of your right AND left columns are important to your site, I really cannot recommend this theme.

The theme also lacks li and ul codes in the style.css, so any lists you make look ungainly.

Content is thrown to the bottom of pages for some modules, even if you have only one column displayed.

I personally don't like themes that dictate how I have to arrange my site. Thumbs down on this one. Both versions.

Yes, you are right, using the flex width one and content eg. with nested tables width="100%" will cause uA such as IE to place the content below the floated left boxes. Within the fixed width theme i have used a fixed width for the content so most of content with tables should place as expected.

and Yes ... you should better use valid source while running css positioned themes, because this theme does not like unclosed tags and stuff. Looking at your temporary link i got some errors on validator but it's sure your testpage.

But it DOES NOT dictate how you want to arrange your site. Normally it's flexible, you may use blocks or not and you can place content in blocks before and after $xoops_content.

@all other:

But, for those who want to experiment with this theme though:

- drive carefully
- if the theme does not behave as intended, look in to your source. html-errors such as unclosed tags may crash the theme if it causes an unclosed "importent" tag of the theme.
- width of tables=100% in a nested table may cause a wrong amount for some (one) browser. Look how the tables are nested and erase width="100%" to get closer to the error. (eg. Is a nested table width="100%" within a td="50%")
- try to use clean output of modules
- don't use it if it don't work for you

I'm the hard-headed type, and as soon as I saw the theme, I knew I wanted it - no matter what I had to do.

I changed the div tags into tables. Except for some minor changes, I kept studioC's original design in place. Everything works great with the alterations. Still have to customize bits and pieces, but the design is too good to pass up.

maybe i am completely slow..but I am looking at the CSS..and I only see 3 digit Hex codes....???

I tried to insert 6 digits..and nothing happens..Am I using wrong codes???

no, you aren't slow :) you can use eg. #FFFFFF instead of #fff too.

i'm using short expressions of css here so you may look if there is eg. a background image before the colour you want to change?

}

in this case changing background colour has not that much first visible effects, but then if there are disabled images and it's a better loading effect with same colour of image.
