The "Article" module is a new content management module for Xoops 2.2+, contributed by the "Article Module Team".

New features with the "Article" module (some other new features have been applied to the modules CBB, planet):
1 multi-category
2 multi-page
3 multi-template
4 search result hight with context
5 search engine optimal URL rewrite
6 easy to clone
7 completely Xoops based

Hmmm...
- 2.2 will be send to Trash (read Scalpa)...
- a lot of users never migrate to 2.2 and ignoraing such userbase is... high level of marketing stupidity

can you confirm the current status of 2.2.3 as thought understood ( the latest version was part of the XOOPS road map )

Does this module have the 'mail to a friend' feature? I couldnt find it in the example but maybe I need to be loged on (or I overlooked it ideally I would love this feature internal (w/o the mailto). is this planned if not available now?

well..I just saw the 'transfer' feature, which allows me to email it (among many other cool features). then the question would be if there is a chance of making direct link to this instead of going trhough 'transfer' since I wont be using many of these and I want to keep it simple...guess I'll have to try it and see for myself, its well worht it. thanks for the great module...I think XOOPS needed more content modules that seem to be appearing now

Articles, whether demo articles that are in your module or new articles I submit in HTML, don't seem to be picked up with Xoops' native search.

Is Article content not searchable?

I tried to install this module and it gives me an error (right after choosing preferences of who can edit/see). anyone has the same problem? could be beecause I also have the 'articles' (by AndyM) module installed?

LazyBadger, I think I am confused.
Does the "No" means that you have interest in evaluating or guiding some module even it is just in alpha but no interest in contributing to a module if it is in alpha?

If so, may I ask, at which stage in the process of a module development, you could have interest in both evaluating and contributing to a module, in general?

Reminded by some friend, I realized that LazyBadger's comment was perhaps for helping answering patagon's question.

If it is the case, I would appreciate LazyBadger's help and would apologize to LazyBadger for my too sensitive response.

It has been too unfriendly in the past few months, and I have been so depressed with unstable emotion. Anyway, I shouldn't have responded here.

Don't mention... I'm not touchy and it's rather difficult to catch me in principle by the simple methods...
Can I ask you to create short feature-list in form
feature - status (fully implemented, partially implemented, planned, will not be added) for
- Global XOOPS-search (I see Article in list, but can find nothing, even if text exist in body)
- Internal module search (nothing found too
- Adding Article's topics to userinfo history
- Integrating with XOOPS commenting and notification system
- Adding more "hooks" with external modules (you have now bridges for blogs and forums, I'll be happy adding relation to external dictionary-glossary... Which can show term-definition for words inside aricles, for example somehow)

BTW - top two my problems can be related with still untouched permissions, but I'm not sure yet

I have tried installing Article on a test site. After I install I see a link to Article in the main menu but it doesn't appear in the Admin/modules or admin/preferences menus. Therefore I can't change perms or any other settings. Most links within Article won't work, giving a No Access error page. I apparently am doing something wrong, as others seem to have installed the module successfully.

Any suggestions? I running it on a XOOPS 2.2.3 test site with several other modules installed.

Global XOOPS-search: fully implemented
Internal module search: fully implemented, there is a submenu
Adding Article's topics to userinfo history: fully implemented
Integrating with XOOPS commenting and notification system: fully implemented
Adding more "hooks" with external modules: the framework is done, I would leave instances for specific modules to users

No need. I fixed it by uploading again. I think I had made some error with who could be admin on the module.

Discovered some glitches and created more "standard-compliant" module icon. Where to post? here or in XForge (with subset of FRs, based on small usage-experience)?

OK, I am a novice Xoopser with not a lot of free time to try out all the article modules, and the similarity of the names (Article, Articles, WFSection, XFSection, etc) does not help my confusion. Has anyone done a feature comparison on all or some of the latest article managment modules?
Are any of them compatible with others for importing data?
I ask a lot, I know. Sorry.

I've noticed when clicking on categories, articles and certain parts of the admin module I get alot of "No input specified" errors. No php/mysql/smarty errors. Where could the problem be?

It is caused by some config related to PathInfo.
Some solution is available in Alpha 2, soon

defwind77, XML-RPC is not currently available with "Artile" concerning:
1 it is not necessarily a required feature for article management although it is pretty "Cool". Such features are planned after Beta.
2 RPC is a relatively indepent element and just needs some API to communicate with "Article". In other words, it is not very difficult to implement once we need it.

cool phppp - well I'm not sure if you realise how 'cool' your module is! I guess you've started it as primarily an article management tool - but it's this 'article management' ability, more detailed spotlight block etc that makes it great - so yes - it'd definitely be awesome to have and I'd be able to start using your module for all my article management!

In the meantime - is there anyway I can add articles to article 1.0 using such tools as a workaround? I know news accepts it, so is there any way for article 1.0 to read the articles stored in news or something?

this is a very cool module, However I have seen something that may be an issue. I also use your xlanguage module(which is excellent) and have noticed that If I have an article named using the language tags that the navigational links at the bottom of the article show the tags in the link to the next article.

thanks again for releasing such great modules for the rest of us to use.

Sorry I was not more clear, let me try again.
If I have an article and in the title field I enter something like "[en]title1[/en][es]título1[/es]" and another article and in its title field I have [en]title2[/en][es]título2[/es]. When I view article1 the navigation link to article2 on the bottom of the page displays like this. "[en]title2".

Even if I choose spanish as my language the link shows the same "[en]title2".

I have double checked that I have all my language tags correct, and the article itself displays correct, just the link to the next article on the bottom of the page is off.

I am using the latest xlanguage 2.05, and XOOPS 2.2.3 final

You have to set "Sibling title length" as 0, from module preference page.
Otherwise, the sibling title will be truncated with unexpected result:
[en]My English Title[/en][es]My Es Title[/es]
=>[en]My English(Stop here)

it is not working for me I have tried downloading and uploading more than once, im running XOOPS 2.2.3 final and when I try to install article it takes me to the page to set user access and admin access and when i try to install it takes me to a blank page!

For what it's worth I've started using xfsection 1.10 with XOOPS 2.2.3 and it seems to work fine (although can't get notifications to work with it). I would be interested to see a comparison between it and other article modules.
