Article:
It is information which you wish to make public to your visitors. This information breaks up into 3 parts, the title, the text of introduction and the continuation of the text. For each article, you have options such as for example the possibility to join files to it. On the banner page (index) of the module, are visible only the texts of introduction in order to gain in place.

C) Options of the module

1) How much article on the principal page?

This option determines the number of articles which are visible on the page index of the module.
When your total number of articles exceeds this number, of the rafters are visible in bottom of the page of index
in order to allow you to go from page on page.

2) Format of the date

You allows to specify a format of date to be used everywhere in the module. The format to be used is identical to that used in the function date() of Php. For more information, see:HTTP://fr2.php.net/manual/fr/function.date.php

If you do not specify anything, it is the format by defect defined in XOOPS which will be used.

3) To post the box of navigation in top of each page?

If this option is then activated a drop-down list containing the names of subjects will be present in the top of the page of index of the module. This drop-down list contains the list of all the subjects contained in your base and allows you to go directly to a subject.

4) To automatically approve the new articles without the intervention of one administrator?

When this option is positioned on ' Oui', all articles subjected by the users are automatically approved and published.

5) Page-setting of the articles

You can post the articles on your banner page in two manners different.

- the "Traditional" option lists the last articles published the ones with the continuation of the others, while putting most recent in first in the page.

- the option "Articles by subjects" posts you a framework by subject. With the interior of this framework, one finds the last article published in this subject and lists it last articles published in this subject. The number of articles present in each "block" is a function of the option 1) of the module

6) Name of author to be used

The articles are inevitably attached to somebody, even if it is an anonymity. When an article is posted, in one way or another, the name of its author is posted, this option allows you to determine how to post the name of the author, namely:

- Pseudo: It is the name of connection which will be posted

- complete Name: If it is indicated, it is the complete name of the user who will be posted if not its pseudo

- None: Nothing is posted

7) Columns

This option enables you to choose a number of columns to be used for to post your articles on the page of index of the module.

8) A number of articles to be posted in the administration

The administration of the module enables you to post articles in lists, last articles published, articles on standby and articles expired. This option thus will enable you to choose the number of visible articles in these lists.

9) Groups authorized to join files to the articles

It is possible to join, for each article, of the files, this option you allows to determine which are the groups authorized to download files. Attention, these groups are not those of XOOPS but those of the module. This concept will be re-examined more in treating detail in the part of the administration of modulate. You can choose between the following groups:

- Editors and Assentor

- Assentor only

- Decontaminated remote loading

10) maximum Size of the files joined in KB

In the part "B) Vocabulary", of this documentation, it was known as that an article breaks up into 3 parts, the title, the text of introduction and the continuation of the text. When you position this option of the module to "Yes", them users see only the articles that they have the right to see. On the other hand, when you position this option with "Not", them users have the possibility of seeing the title and the introduction of the article and this, even if they do not have not right to see the article. 15) To allow the authors to publish their articles

16) To allow the users to note the articles

If you activate this option, your visitors will have the possibility then of to note the articles. The recorded users and the anonymities can vote only one time and the authors of the articles cannot vote for their own articles. These notes allow you then, in particular in the administration of the module, to have statistics.

17) To activate flows RSS by subject

This option makes it possible to your users to follow the articles of your site by subject. If you activate the option of course.

18) To allow the seizure of the meta given (keywords and description)

If you activate this option, the people authorized to approve the articles then have the possibility of seizing (in the form of tender) the meta data HTML "keywords" and "description". This information is useful to have a better referencing in search engines. If this information is not seized, the module generates automatically meta keywords and a meta description for each article.

19) Editor to be used

If you installed certain text editors, you can them then to use in the module to subject your subjects and your articles.

24) Select appearance to be used in the mitres

The blocks "articles recent" and "signal articles" can to post mitres, this option enables you to choose the appearance of these mitres. This subject will be tackled in the part reserved for the blocks.

D) Administration

- the manager of subjects

As its name indicates it, this part enables you to manage all the subjects of modulate. The first part of the window which is posted, list all subjects in indicating in a visual way the relation père/fils which can exist between them. For each subject, you have the possibility of removing the subject and of to publish. Under this list of subjects, a form is which enables you to create or to publish a subject. With this form you can:

- To give a title to the subject.

- To specify a description for the subject. This description will be posted in the page of index of the module when you visualize a particular subject.

- To choose an article relative.

- To choose a color for the subject.

- To decide if the subject must appear in the principal menu of XOOPS like under option of the option "Articles".

- To decide if the subject must appear in the page of index.

- To assign an image to the article.

- the manager of articles
This part enables you to manage the articles of your site. It is made up of 4 tables.

1) New proposals

This table lists the articles subjected by the users but on standby of validation. These articles thus need to be published to be approved. You can see the title of the article, the subject, the date on which the article was posted, the author and a bond to delete the article. If you click on the title of the article, that will enable you to publish the article. The table contains all the new articles on standby. The block system of XOOPS "contained on standby" lists this number articles

2) Automated Articles

The article automated are articles which have a date of publication higher than "now". One can say that it is "pre publication". You can see the identifier of the article, its title, the subject, the author, go back and the hour to publication, the date and the hour of expiry and two bonds. The first bond is used to publish the article whereas it second allows you to delete the article. This list contains all the articles ready to be published.

3) Last articles

You can see the identifier of the article, its title, the subject, the author, it a number of readings and two bonds. The first bond enables you to publish the article whereas the second allows you to delete the article. The table contains only the (x) last articles published (by holding account of the option number 8 of the module) As the number of articles is limited in posting, it is possible to see them other articles by using the rafters present in bottom of this list. You will also find, under this table, one zone of seizure in which you can seize the identifier of an article in order to publish it or to remove it.

4) Expired Articles

You can see the identifier of the article, its title, the subject, the author, expiry and creation date like 2 bonds. The first bond to delete the selected article and the second to publish the article. The table contains only the (x) last articles expired (by holding account of the option number 8 of the module) Under the table, you will find a zone of seizure allowing you to publish or of to delete an article

Under these four tables, the form enabling you is to create one article. This form will be re-examined more in details in the part E) of this documentation

- permissions

They are three, permission to approve, permission to subject and permission to see. To some extent these 3 permissions establish virtual groups. For each type of permission, you find the list of all your groups XOOPS and the list of your subjects.

1) Permission to approve

With less than you did not position the option "To approve them automatically new articles without the intervention of an administrator " module, the articles are not published as soon as they are subjected. It is necessary that a person validates her contents.

2) Permission to subject

You can restrict the tender of articles to certain groups. That fact by this skew. Note, a group or a person who subjects an article does not have them inevitably rights to approve it, except if you gave him the rights of approval.

3) Permission to see

- Purging (or removal of articles in mass)

When the treatment is finished, script generates a file which is called /xoops/uploads/newsletter.txt. A bond enables you it to download and another to remove it.

- Statistics

This part enables you to obtain statistics in connection with the article, subjects and of the authors The number of visible elements in each table is equal to the option n°8 modulate "a Number of articles to be posted in the administration"

There are 3 different statistics:

- Statistics on the subjects
For each subject you can see his number of articles, the number of times where the subject was read, the number of attached files, the number of expired articles as well as the number of single authors.

- Statistics on the articles

This part is broken up into 3 tables:

a) Articles the most read

This table summarizes, for all the subjects of your base, the articles more read. The table contains for each article, its subject, its title, the author like the number of readings.

b) Articles the least read

It is the contrary result of the preceding point and its contents are the same one.

c) Articles best noted
You will find here the articles best noted, the contents is the same one as in the preceding tables, only the last column changes and the notation of the article contains.

- Statistics on the authors

This part also breaks up it into 3 tables

a) Authors the most read

To create this table, the program calculates the total number of readings by author and posts the authors most read with the meter of readings.

b) Authors best noted

To create this table, the program calculates the average of the notes of each author and makes a table of results of it

c) Larger contributors

The goal of this table is to know which creates the greatest number of articles.

- Update

This mitre is visible only if you must update the module. In which case it is enough for you to click on the bond which is proposed to you and to follow then the instructions which are indicated to you.

E) Pages of the module accessible to the users

- the index

By defect the page of index lists the articles published of all the subjects according to the type of management of the rights which you selected. The articles are listed more recent with oldest. In order not to have a page of interminable index, the module does not post entirety of the articles but only one number
determined in the options of the module. Like that was known as in the presentation module, one posts only the title and the introduction part (or the hat in terms of printing works) of the article. To read the article in its integrality it is necessary to click on the bond that it propose. This page can be also used to visualize only the contents of a subject. The presentation of the articles depends on the fifth option of the module "Put on page of the articles ". - files

Even when a certain time is past, the articles do not disappear. The goal of this page is to present the articles published by gathering them by period. Initially, and in the absence of parameters, the module posts you, by year, months when articles were published. When you click over one month, the list of the articles published appears then during this month. You can then consult the article, to print it, send a mall about it with somebody, to see the number of times where it was consulted thus that its creation date.

- Article

With the page of index, it is certainly one of the most important pages and the most consulted your site.

As one can expect it, it makes it possible to post the integral contents of one article. As for all the pages, the rights are completely respected. With each reading of an article, its meter of readings is incremented (except if you are the author of the article or an administrator). The contents of an article can be cut out on pages at the time of its creation. For that it is enough to place in the body text the beacon [ pagebreak ] in order to cause a change of page. If the article presents itself on several pages, the module proposes to you bonds in order to reach the various pages of the article. If the module detects that a search engine is traversing it contained your article, it will have the entirety to him of bonds towards the pages. In normal time if for example your article makes 20 pages, you will see only four bonds whereas if it is one robot, the module presents the 20 bonds to him. Since this page the user has also the possibility of going on one page which lists all the articles of the author of which you are in train reading the article. According to your choice, the page posts also a table of synopsis summarizing them last articles published.

To conclude, the module will insert in the code of the page (Ca is not one visible part of the users except if they will see the source code of the page) the meta keywords and the meta description. If you seized them during the creation of the article or lasting sound approval, the module restores them just as they are. However if you did not inform them then the module will use the title article like meta description and contents of the article in order to create the meta keywords. This possibility, often called "metagen" is very useful for to correctly refer your pages and your articles in search engines. The title of the article is also used in order to create a title of page significant.

- Articles of the same author

This page is visible and accessible only if you activated the option corresponding of the module. As its title indicates it, it posts all the article of the same author in holding account of the rights. This page is very practical for the Community sites and when your visitors find an article interesting and want to see of them others of this same author. The page posts the name of the author as well as a bond towards his profile and sound misadventure., by subject, the articles of the author are then listed. This list contains the date of publication of the article, the title of the article, the number of times where it has summer read and its notation. Each title of article contains a bond which allows to consult the integrality of the article.

- Impression of an article

Contrary to the other pages, this one contains only the contents of the article. Blocks and columns site are not visible. It is thus very practical to print the article.

- If the person who is subjecting the article does not have it right to approve it, a check box enables him to be held informed by email of the validation of the article.

- the two last options enable you to decontaminate codes HTML and smilies contained in the article.

F) Blocks

As in all the other modules, the blocks enable you to post information coming from the module in other pages. On your banner page for example.

- Subjects of articles

This block posts a drop-down list containing the subjects that the user in course is authorized to see. This list makes it possible to go directly on the desired subject.

- Article of the day

Via this block it is possible to see the article more read but which was published the very same day.

- Signal recent articles and "Articles"

These two blocks propose identical contents, only the order of sorting for posting differs.

- Moderation of the articles

- Navigation in the subjects

This block takes again a little the principle of the first block "Subjects articles "except that the subjects are not presented in the form of one drop-down list but in the shape of a table. This block is very useful if you wish that them search engines find all the articles of your subjects.

- Random Articles

With the preceding blocks, and more particularly the blocks "Signal recent articles "and" Articles ", they are often the same one articles which are presented to the visitors of your site (the articles are often popular because one present that those there). This block thus makes it possible to post in a random way a certain number articles. That makes it possible not "to forget" certain articles. By the intermediary of the options of the block you can choose the order of sorting of articles, the number of articles, the length of the title and possibly the number of characters which you wish to extract from the text of introduction. G) Templates

I) The module of News and referencing

Just like for the meta description, the module uses the title of the article. If your site comprises many articles, the principal page of module proposes rafters making it possible to go from page on page. These rafters do not present, by defect, of bonds towards all the pages. The bonds appear as the visitor clicks on rafters. If the module detects that it is a robot which is in the train of to traverse your pages, it then will present bonds to him towards all your pages with an aim of helping you to have a better referencing.

Despite everything the functionalities of the module, one should not only lose sight of the fact the best means of being indexed and referred well is to propose true contents for your visitors. On the site of one of the search engines most known one can read "made your pages for your visitors and not for the engines ". If you are able to translate the module in a language which is not already available on the site of the module, I advise you to leave the files of English language in order to make the translation in your language. Free with you then to make as many people did it, it is with to say to share your translation with the others by forwarding me them files in order to make the them available to greatest number. You can also announce me any orthography or typing error.

News Version 1.43 running on site XOOPS 2.2.3.
Sometimes when i post they disappear and other time they show.
All settings are posted as above.
Any ideas?
Also post times seem to default to a few minutes ahead and so they end in automated section, whys this?

Xlanguage is working perfectly with all modules on XOOPS 2.2.3a...

Am I missing something....

If select english everything is OK but if I select swedish I get internal server error
