MyWebResource is proud to announce the first release in a series of XOOPS 2.2.x compliant themes.

The Clean Blue theme is a light, full-width theme for for XOOPS 2.2.x that employs a traditional three-column layout with soft, contrasting blues. This is a very fast theme that uses CSS for the primary decoration elements. This theme is well-suited for most applications and works well with most modules.

Could you explain this in a little more detail? I've been using this theme on my Admin section for a few days and haven't found any issues thus far.

A) I'm going to integrate the navigation bar and create the Admin-side theme
B) I'm going to update the code and use the new theme folder structure
C) I'm going to add the language files

Do they work? Yes, but not 100%. However, it has nothing to do with the core. I just need to update them a little to take advantage of 2.2.x's new features, like the themeable Admin section.

Strange indeed. I checked the language files included with the theme and everything is correct. Unless I'm mistaken, the language files are called by the core, not the theme. At least, when I searched through the "Default" theme, I found no references to the language files.

The only thing I can find that I missed was


<meta http-equiv="content-language" content="<{$xoops_langcode}>" />

I have corrected this and re-uploaded the theme. However, this meta tag should only matter to search engines, so I'm still puzzled by what you're reporting LB.

I haven't answer (still) for localisation problem, and instead showning you screenshots (menu-related) I can suggest see it in real situation - I'll add you admin rights on Frontier.
I see it with FF 1.06, first activation of menu after jumping to admin show dropdown correctly, all later - wrong
And one more note: first opening index page of site with your theme as default is obviously long:

Yes, I would like to see this error on your site, if you don't mind. I tried going to your site, but all I got was a white screen.

I'm curious about the page load. The theme only uses one graphic on the publically accessible pages, that being the logo, which is only 5.46KB. The admin side uses several small images, but none are over 3KB except for the logo. The total rendered weight using the theme should be relatively small.

Can anyone else confirm LB's page load findings?

Note: I've thoroughly tested this theme in Firefox 1.0.6, IE 6.0, and Opera 8.02 and I am unable to reproduce the issues mentioned above. I'm not saying that they don't exist. I'm just saying I'm unable to reproduce them. If anyone else can reproduce these errors, please report them with as much detail as possible so I can fix them.

Yes, I heard about this glitch at least from one more location for my X22-site and read (AFAIR) about same issue here in forum. At least with Opera it was possible to reach my site from unreacheble with IE|FF location.
About timing: it can be my local unique set of conditions, I don't know... My LA ~0.1 and lesser most of time, swap unused, other sites on this host show always 1+seconds for such amount of queries... even heavy frontpage of Proving ground has smth. like "3.583 Seconds | 185 Queries"

Strange. I can access your site just fine in Opera, but not in any other browser. :-S

I think the slow page load may be related to your setup. The page loads on your site consistantly were over 2 seconds when I browsed it with Opera, but when I use the same theme at MyWebResource, page loads are < 1 second. There are times when page load times climb to > 2 seconds at MyWebResource, but this has to do with server load, not the theme.

In response to the reports I have received, I have made the following changes to the Clean Blue theme and re-uploaded it to the server.

> Added content-language META tag
> Added missing com style elements in style.css
> Added <br /> after <{$xoops_footer}> to place page load statistics on a new line

After installing, I get this error message when I switch to the Cleanblue theme:

Element "menu1" does not exist in this document.

I'm running XOOPS 2.2.1

Was the error generated in the Admin section or the publically viewable pages? Do you get the same error with the default theme?

I did find one section of code that was incorrect in themeadmin.html. Other than that, the Clean Blue theme uses the exact same references to menu1 as the new Default theme.

Try replacing

I changed the code as you suggested, but I have the same problem still.
Centerblock is showing.
Menus are not.
"Element "menu1" does not exist in this document. AdMenu can not be initialised."

Please Help.

The default theme has an element with id="menu1":

which is what is referenced in theme.html

The code you referenced is in <theme_root>/navigation/theme_usernav.html in both the Default theme and the Clean Blue theme.

Again, I have verified that all references to "menu1" in the Clean Blue theme match the references in the Default theme, and I am unable to reproduce this issue using a test install of 2.2.1.

Please check the file and folder permissions on your theme sub-folders. If all else fails, please try re-downloading and reinstalling the theme.

I wish I could be more help, but if I cannot reproduce the problem, I cannot track down it's source.

The default theme has always worked without problems. I re-downloaded and uploaded Clean Blue. I changed the folder permissions to 777. The files are 644, but then the Default theme files are 644 as well. I still get the same problem. Oh well.

Yes, I see what you are referring to. This is very strange indeed! I've bookmarked your site and will analize it's source, if possible, to look for clues.

I will also setup another test site on another server and view it from another host. I will also try installing the modules you are using in the event there is some strange incompatability there.

I apologise that you are having these errors. I will see what I can come up with to fix it.

In Firefox this theme rocks!

But in IE when I check in most front side pages:

Just to be on the safe side...

I've deleted the download off of the server
Downloaded the version being used on MyWebResource
Deleted the footer link to my web host
Replaced my logo with the generic logo
Added the generic logo's png file
Repackaged and reuploaded the file to the server

If anyone would be so kind, please go to MyWebResource, browse a few pages, and let me know if you experience any of the previously reported errors. If you do, please take a screenshot and post the link to the screenshot with your browser version and operating system details.

Please note: I know there will be a horizontal scrollbar on some pages, I've added a custom right column block on every page to demonstrate that this theme does not overlap.

It is the website admin's job to customize their site's block placement so that the layout of their site is not broken by modules. NO 3 column theme available for XOOPS (that I am aware of) is imune from breaking because of third party modules; not even the Default theme.

I will bend over backwords to fix problems that are my fault. Sorry, but I don't have time to make sure this theme will work with every module. That's just unrealistic.

If you want, I'd be happy to post pictures of my admin section using this theme in those three browsers at that resolution. My point behind using 800x600 resolution is that MOST themes break at this low of a resolution.

Sorry for being a blunt. I do believe in supporting my work. I'm just finding it a little strange that I cannot reproduce any of the above errors after installing this theme on three XOOPS 2.2.x sites on three different servers, using three different configurations, and using the exact same file that everyone else is using.

I found this small error when checking the XHTML-Transitional:

      An "id" is a unique identifier. Each time this attribute is used in a document it must have a different value. If you are using this attribute as a hook for style sheets it may be more appropriate to use classes (which group elements) than id (which are used to identify exactly one element).

I wouldn't consider myself an expert. I just enjoy making themes.

To answer your question, yes, it is possible to design a XHTML 1.0 Strict theme. The problem is that, unless you don't use most modules, you'll never get it to validate. That is, unless you spend a LOT of time modifying module templates and files.

I ran across this theme while desperately looking for a XOOPS 2.2 theme with some sort of horizontal "Top" drop down navigation. But unfortunately, I have ran into the same problem as charpres and EddyBodde. I get the (Element "menu1" does not exist in this document.):
