So what is happening with the original newbb?

What happens if you like the simplicity of the layout?

The fact it is a standalone module and dosen't mess with the rest of the code?

Is CBB going to be what xoops.org will exchange to?

Is CBB going to be streamlined as I find both Newbb2 and CBB at present, to be quite slow on download time.

Especaily as I am on dial-up at the moment, yet even on broadband the extra images all over require that extra time.

I do want to swap my forum to something that is a bit more user friendly, so is CBB going to be this?

As many users are simple!

I think on the end the NewBB(2) will be exchanged by CBB, also on xoops.org. Both, NewBB and CBB and NewBB2 are already standalone modules which don't mess with the rest of the code.
NewBB2 isn't developed any further, but CBB is and will be.

Although I have the impression that CBB is much faster in loading than NewBB2, I am sure as soon CBB is stable enough and has the feature function the community asks for, there will also be somekind of 'light' version available. With this I mean without al the buttonimages but with plain simple text-links (new topic/edit/reply a.s.o), which will speed up loading-time.

It is good to see CBB is trustworthy in development devotion.

CBB has replaced Newbb.

I will update this on the CBB site later today (I have been away for a few days).

So is this final before release? or is CBB a work in progress? or will it be about finnished when XOOPS is?
So when you upgrade xoops, you will also have to upgrade to CBB?
To continue on, with improvements and newbb will be stopped?

newbb 2 was developed by phppp and predator. Development of newbb 2 ceased on modules dev forge when predator left. Phppp continues development and improvements under the new name of CBB. So in essence they are the same module, just a different name with bug fixes and improvements.

I believe with the active team in place for CBB the future of the module looks very bright indeed.

With the core changes of XOOPS version 2.2 the version of cbb offered in this news article is to test and see if any bugs are requiring fixing. So a stable module is available when the new version of XOOPS is released.

There were bugs with permissions.
I have updated the package to CBB 2.2 alpha 1.1

If anyone uses CBB 2.2 alpha, plz re-download it.
